Greetings,

i was looking arround, and i saw a thread talking about the gesture dialer of Android, i thought "Ewwww, we have to get that on WM"

so here it is :D

once you place your finger on the black area, a grid will be drawn,
the place your finger initially toutches the screen is the #5

Now With Audio Feedback & More Config

Features :
- Dial using Gestures (ideal when driving)
- Ability to make voice phone calls through the software.
- Haptic Feedback
- Speed Dial (Right side Vertical Bar), place your finger there, the place your initial touch is speed dial #1, move down to get the rest of speed dials)
- Configuration Form
- Audio Feedback

How to use :
- Place your finger on the black area.
- move your finger around to see the top right corner changing
- to place a call move your finger to the most lower right corner (a "C" will appear in red in the top right corner).
- back space is the most lower left corner (a "B" will appear in red in the top right corner).
- To open the Configuration form, call a blank number

- Youtube Video (by Pocketnow.com) for V1.0

enjoy

nice one :) works on blackstone

haptic feedback would be nice, when finger reaches new area. the audible confirmation of a number was spoken on adroid, wasn't it? that would be nice, too :D

wishlist:
haptic feeback and spoken confirmation feedback
bigger font which follows finger while pressed/sliding
possibility to hide taskbar (e.g like in thumbcal)
auto end gesture dialer when launching call
custom-background
get rid of the grid
icon xD

this is a concept only
a nice concept
you can aprimorate with haptic and
you can do that with the touch, appears in a local white spot, as if clearing with a flashlight, and look where the other numbers, the light with your finger to move and clear the other number, as is already there but in dark

Wow, wasn't expecting this to work as well as it does!! I almost find this easier to dial a number than having a keypad anyway!!

Great work, looking forward to future releases. :)

I can give you english and german voice files (wav/mp3/ogg) if you like/need.

some more ideas...
- clear all numbers, when finger lasts longer than 1 sec on "B"
- exit program on red button

Will this work on my Vogue?
Please try it and let me know ;)

i really can use the english ones as a start, then they can be configurable :D

regarding the ideas, these seems to be a bit complicated at this stage.
clearing the numbers after certain duration requires timers to work internally in order to get the timing so it might affect performace (i am a performance guy:p)
closing the application on Red Button requires some keyhook (i guess) which i'm not fimiliar with atm.

will it support smartdialing ? Video call ?
Thanks for this
i don't see a reason preventing this in future releases.

everyone, this is a software right?!
it always can be done, (unless i don't want to :p) :D

cheers mates

"+" for international calls

The grid is geeting missplaced on my Xperia.
At the moment I have to touch in the middle of the screen to get the correct grid.

If I touch somewhere else the grid is "shifted" and disorted and not all numbers are available.

Bug or feature? :D

Maybe you can team up with
iContact AE Edition
http://icontactae.codeplex.com/

and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468007
JKingDev

for the key hook thing

Best regards,

actually my friend this is the whole idea of the application.
when driving for example, you cannot look at the dialer (HTC or SE ones) in order to know which number to press.
in normal phones (ones with NumPad) you can always know where the #5 is, so you can press the numbers easily and make calls.
the concept of the application is, where ever you put your finger on the screen it will automatically shift the grid to place #5 under your finger (1st scenario is you place your finger on #5, here #5 comes under your finger) and you can move your finger to select the number you want to dial without even looking (peeking) at the device.

thanks alot for the links, i will take a look there ;)

Wow, seems like a cool idea. Does this replace the standard dialer, or is it a separate app?
Thanks!

a separate application, you will still have your dialer don't worry.
thanks for the Wow ;)

If you need the sound files for the numbers, go to this site!
http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php

can't use that
see the license, thanks though.
Yes, both the site itself and any downloaded audio files have restrictions. The website is for demonstration purposes only, and is not a free service. The goal of this site, after all, is for as many people as possible to listen to AT&T Natural Voices™ text to speech.
