For some reason, I am having to flash supersu again, change lpa decode to false in the build prop, and make sure busybox is installed in order to get viper4android to install on cm11. I used to just have to change LPA decode. Did I miss something?

Did you try editing build.prop files?
How do we do that? I can not get Viper to work with poweramp at all. It works perfectly with my Playerpro and google play music. I have disabled volume control and enabled music fx, and converted to system app. Viper has compatibility mode enabled too. Phone is the Nexus 5 on 4.4.2.

Does this work on OMNI 4.4.2 or CyanFox 4.4?

People have reported working on 4.4 roms so why don't you give it a try?

Anyone knows why I don't have IRS option anymore ? I have everything set up in kernel folder ish. Thanks guys.

All instructions are in the first post to change your build.prop. If it still doesn't work try reinstalling viper and enable Force V4A option.

Build prop won't work for my Nexus 5, i guess. The lines to modify are not in my build prop. I tried following these instructions and can not get poweramp to work either. Viper works perfect with my Playerpro though, just want to state that.

For Poweramp users:
To use V4A with Poweramp properly, you need to follow the steps below.
|Open Poweramp Settings -> Audio -> Advanced Tweaks -> Direct volume control -> Turned off|
Note: To solve Poweramp volume too low after turning off Direct volume control:
Turn on V4A’s PlaybackAGC, set strength to Medium/Extreme, set Max Gain to Infinity, set Max Output to 0db.

Did you try disabling Direct Volume Control and enabling Music FX in advanced settings, then under tone/volume clicking the Music FX switch? If you run Viper as a System App in Compatible Mode it works well. I'm on a G2 which is the same chipset, so it should work for you that way.

What tone/volume menu are you talking about? These are the settings I have in poweramp.

I believe he is referring to the ui knobs for those

Oh okay that makes sense now. I haven't used poweramp in a very long time so I don't know my way around it. I enabled the music fx inside the ui knobs as well and nothing.

See the icon that I'm pointing to in the player, thats the tone/volume controls... tap it

Now tap that MusicFX switch. Viper should work in Compatible mode now. I suggest making it a system app too.

Thanks for the pictures, it did help a lot since I'm not familiar with poweramp. As I stated before I have it as a System App and in compatability mode as well. Poweramp is being extremely stubborn. Playerpro works fine with Viper and even has louder Sound.

Extremely stubborn isn't the word. Try turning that Music FX switch off/on while music is playing and see if you hear a difference. Sometimes it seems like it doesn't work unless you save all that as a preset

It works as long as you follow the instructions carefully and not mess anything up. Try to change the build.prop in your phone as stated in the first post. If it still doesn't work for you, try making viper a system app and enable Force V4A in the options. If it still doesn't work out, change a music player and try switching between Compatible Mode and force enabling V4A.

Well it didn't work for me with poweramp in the compatible mode either. Then I used it in the normal mode as a system wide effect. What I did was to disable the stock music fx using TiBu and installed [email protected] as a system app. Why don't you try this.

Yes of course I tried that. I always remove the music fx app from any custom roms and replace it with Viper as a System App. I never had an issue with Viper regardless of rom or phone. Poweramp is my only issue.

We got good taste lol

Edit: after having everything setup in poweramp I had to toggle compatability mode on and off and force V4A to start with Playerpro. I did a restart after that and forced Playerpro to start and then poweramp and I managed to get it working. It ended up sticking only when compatability was off. Thanks for the help guys

On nexus 5 4.4.2 viper works with YouTube and neutron if you add IPA.decode=false on buildprop so I'm guessing it works for third party apps on normal mode. My apologies if this has been discussed before.
