Got into recovery, thanks. I tried to upload the zip and it says aborted...wtf???????? Any other ideas. Basically what im trying to do and the only reason im doing this is.She wants to be able to use Barnacle wifi tether so she can use her ipad on the rd. Sprint is 1.00 a day and if i can root this nexus she'll be good.
Not sure exactly what you did wrong. I'm going to assume you're already unlocked and rooted if you're able to get into a proper recovery (ClockworkMod Recovery). Am I correct so far?
If so, what you want to do is transfer the Superuser zip to your phone (while it's on and in it's normal every day use mode). Once you've done that, reboot the phone back into Recovery. Then install the SU zip like you would a ROM. In the menu for CWM Recovery just go to install zip from sd card. Select the Superuser one and then click Yes to install. It should work at that point. It's what I did the first time around before I switched to a different non-stock ROM.
I'm thinking it's also possible you also just had a bad download when getting the SU zip. In which case, just to make sure that wasn't the problem, go back to the site and redownload the file. Then do what I mentioned above and you should be good to go.
I'll try and keep an eye on this thread (rest assured it's not dead) to see if you need further help or if everything works out. I'm no pro/expert, but I try and help out when/if I can.
