There seem to be a lot of reports of recovery not working. The problem might be cwm3101. From what I've read, 3024 is the latest stable version for the ns4g.
On the contrary, I found 3101 to be the first version that everything seems to work. Yeah you could use the old version. I did when that was the only one available in the beginning when I rooted it. There wasn't a script back then, you had to do it manually, which wasn't that big of a deal. I've done other phones manually that were many times more difficult or involved than this one.

It is intimidating at first but if you follow the directions, you'll see it wasn't as hard as you thought it would be.

cwm 3.0.2.x was for the nexus s, cwm 3.1.x.x was teh first ns4g cwm. version 3.1.0.0 was broken

why does it matter? if you have a rom (like cyanogenmod) that uses get prop to find out what phone your on, it will say you have a nexus s, and refuse to flash the rom. same goes likewise for any nexus s owners who used this script.. it will root them but should they try to flash a zip that uses that command it will fail..

Sorry I remember seeing this somewhere but between work and the fire Co. I don't really have much time to find it again but I just rooted my phone the other day using this method. It was quick and easy. But how do I get it to charge past 95%? Or should I just recalibrate my battery?

You really shouldn't try to that is intended. The smartphones batteries shouldn't be charged or drained 100%

I been a bit wary ever since ROM Manager took a crap in the recovery partition of my LG Axis, and refused to clean it up. (That phone still has no working recovery.)

Thank you for the clarification.

Shabby, thanks for putting together the script, worked like a charm.

I am experiencing one annoying issue since rooting. Some apps I had installed prior to rooting from the market were no longer showing up in the market. Among the apps I could no longer find in the market were Epicurious, Fidelity Investments and Prey.

What is interesting is that if I did a google search of the app, google would show me android app results, and the link would take me to the market app page for the app and allow me to install it. But even after I installed the app if I go to the market app and search for the app I won't find it available in the market.

Why are many programs not showing up in my market?

I am not running a custom rom - all I did was root using shabby's one click.

Pda net is a program for your pc not the phone and its an exe so I doubt its running in your phone. It installs the necessary drivers for your phone

im lookin at it on my phone.. it says pdanet connected.. bytes 326k/1.32m activities 10/0 Battery 93%. What im asking is what do i do after pdanet is installed and running? Was that the one click root itself? I installed the root checker and its saying there is no root configured. THanks

Pdanet is an app for sharing your phone's internet connection with pc. There is an app for your computer, and a complementary app for your phone.

For rooting, you do not need the phone app. You just install the Pdanet for windows on your computer. All we are using it for is to install the correct drivers so the computer will recognize your phone.

Open the PdanetA300 app that was included in the One-Click package.
