Many of you having been asking me to post some flashable zips of the RAZR M launcher I modded for CSROM.
Well, I finally got off my lazy butt and did it (sorry for the delay!).

The launcher is from a different device (Motorola RAZR M) and different Android version (ICS), so there is a little lag.
But that is a small price to pay for the awesome circle widget!

There are currently two versions available: with and without the persistent search bar.
While I was able to remove the search bar, I have not yet been able to recover the real estate.

Six other apps are installed which are required to make the circle widget fully functional.

Using the Launcher and circle widget
Tapping the circles launches clock app, weather app, and battery stats
Swipe circles to flip them
Clock circle displays text notifications
Home screen is left most screen (not center)
Slide home screen right to see quick settings

Installation:
Nandroid Backup
Flash in recovery

This launcher is for your personal use only.
It is not to be included in any ROM.

Search Bar

No Search Bar

Please be sure to click thanks to let me know
my efforts are appreciated. Thanks! :)

This is great! I already had the Circles widget running but couldn't get rid of that ugly Google Search bar, and this one does it without removing Google Offline Voice Recognition! I simply replaced the Homescreen.apk with the one in this package pushing it in system/apps with rw-r--r-- using root explorer. Great work!

Since I have the latest RAZR HD Homescreen.apk, could you tell me what you changed in yours to remove the Google Search Bar, and what kind of work it implies? Maybe this newer launcher would be faster? What do you think?

I have been modding this version for a while. I didn't realize a newer version is available.

Is the latest version Jelly Bean? If so, I will update.

Indeed, and I was able to pull the Homescreen.apk and .odex fikles from my wife's phone after it was updated OTA a few days ago.

I made a preliminary comparison between your two Homescreen.apks (search and no search) and notice that there are only only 5 different files between the two packages, one arsc and four xmls and although I haven't done any serious coding in over a decade (I started with Fortran on punch card machines, did some Basic, Winhelp and some script writing), this got me really excited into learning how the Android system works as it seems I should be able to pick it up :)

If you need the RAZR HD JB 4.1.2 Homescreen files I pulled from my wife's phone here's a rar of them that I uploaded along with a few more apps from the system/apps folder that looked useful, just use your xda username to download, hopefully that will make it harder for Moto's search bots to DMCA them ;)

Thanks! I will try to take a look at them this weekend.

Using your download link was a little difficult because Chrome couldn't properly translate the text. But I guessed and got it right. :D

You didn't notice the flag on top English version of the page? It's a very good site they give you a 1 gigabyte upload for free

I actually had a copy of that circle widget for over a yr now and just deleted it a couple of months ago... I don't remember if I pulled it off of a rom on my htc amaze or from a widgets app... but I do know that u dont need the razr launcher to get that widget.

I sure wish you could tell us how you did it because I haven't been able to load the widget without the launcher

Another thing I noticed is that the launcher has a bug in it in which the icon text is only on 1 line so if the text is more than 1 line the icon text gets cut off

This might be way off from what you are going for, but I've been using this widget for some time now. I haven't used the original RAZR M widget so I'm not sure what the differences are, but it seems to have most of the same functionality and looks very similar. Plus, it's free and can be used with any launcher.

Yes, I've tried it, but it's not the same thing, the circles widget 3d is much nicer in my opinion. What I also like from the razr m launcher is the possibility to make folders and I also like to have the quick settings on the left of the home screen.

On the other hand if you must use your own launcher, the circles widget from the play store is not bad.

I did not.

You must use a Motorola launcher for the circle widget to work. I am not aware of anyone getting it to work on a non-Motorola launcher. Moto did an extremely good job of hiding their secrets.

As someone mentioned there is a similar widget in the Play Store which pales in comparison to the real thing. There are also a few custom knock-offs on xda.

I made a real effort to be polite about the fake ones in my previous post but once you've tried it you probably won't want to go back :D

So as long as the widget hasn't been liberated from it's launcher and as long as you depend on another one, be careful not to get hooked, otherwise you'll be really miserable!

For those who wanted the circle clock to use in the launcher of their choice u can get it with the app "one more clock" which is a paid app available in the play store.. It has a few options to tweak the theme and 9 clock hot spots u can designate to do what u choose. It also has many more clocks to choose from one of them being the accuweather widget from the galaxy s4 (looks like it from the pics ive seen).. Ive been using it for a few weeks and its the best clock widget ive tried so far out of most of them available on the play store. Definitely 2 :good::good: .. Hope this helps

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried it but this is just another variation of the chrome rings, which has no animation, no analog clock, no alarm clock, no multiple cities with weather details, no battery details and no access to settings.

It pales in comparison with the real thing. ..

Like I said, to try it is to get hooked on it ;)

The only thing I'm missing now is a good news ticker, and I wish I could reclaim the top space where the Google search bar was.

Otherwise it's nearly perfect.
