I'm not at all affiliated with the developer of this app, I was just prompted to write this review after reading a post that sounded like the problem I was having.
What does NoDock do?
it completely suppresses the docking trigger that occurs in the android system upon docking. it is not like other dock killing apps (there are plenty out there, I've tried 5 or 6, nodock is the only one that actually utilizes root capability to completely eliminate the docking trigger).
Why would I want to suppress the docking trigger?
here are several reasons:
-faulty USB port thinking it is in dock mode when it isn't
-cheap/faulty micro-usb charger causing the phone to think it is being docked when it isn't
-magnetic phone case triggering docking when pulling phone out or putting it back in to the sleeve
Symptoms you might be encountering that point to some sort of issue with docking:
-"Car Mode Enabled" constantly popping up in your notification bar
-large variations in media volume through the phone's speaker or headphones (does not apply to USB)
-auto rotation turning itself on even if your settings say otherwise
-when you answer a call, it will default to speakerphone regardless of what your settings are
-etc.
this is the only app that killed the docking event altogether for me. other apps simply placed a "blank" app over car home, which doesn't fix any of the issues listed above.
search for it on the market. there is a trial version and a paid app... the paid app was more than worth it considering the only other option for me was a warranty replacement (imo, $3 up front to fix the problem is more worth it than the wait and hassle of dealing with assurion).
