Pixel Launcher Mods

Pixel Launcher Mods is a root app for Android 12+ that enables you to add a number of features to the stock Pixel Launcher, without needing Xposed.

  • Custom icons, including icon packs, adaptive icon packs and Lawnicons
  • Custom themed icons, add themed icons to apps that don't yet have them officially
    • Generate themed icons from supported normal icons
  • Replace the At a Glance or Search Box with a widget of your choice
  • Hide apps from the app drawer
  • Resize widgets beyond their original bounds, down to 1x1 or up to the maximum size of your grid
  • Hide the status bar clock while the Pixel Launcher is visible, for ultimate minimalism

How It Works

Interested in how Pixel Launcher Mods works? You can read all about it here

Old versions, which can only be used on older versions of Android than 12, can be found here

More Themed Icons (Android 12)
On Android 12, you can only change apps' themed icons to icons already in the Pixel Launcher. You can add more icons to the launcher using Magisk modules that provide an overlay, such as this one.

Thank you for the app , but it's not working with the rootless Pixel launcher , changing icon per app works but , applying the whole icon pack isn't working , tried also with Bq launcher ( vendor based on old pixel launcher)

Which icon pack and what apps are you applying it to?

Make something yo change the icon size without change the dpi. Please

From the FAQ:

Q: Can you implement X feature?
A: Probably not. This app works off modifying the already available files - not the app itself. Whilst there are some mods you can make by editing the Shared Preferences (such as enabling/disabling the Google search bar in the app drawer, changing the top row of apps in the drawer and enabling the "bounce" animation), they get reset every time the launcher loads, so are useless. I can't implement icon hiding, grid size changes, overlapping widgets, or any of your other favourite custom launcher features - use a proper custom launcher for that

How do I revert my icons back to stock??

Currently you have to do it one by one in the app, or clear the data of both Pixel Launcher and this app (will reset your homescreen layout too). I plan to add a "reset all" option for the next update though

Dang! That sucks.

Additionally, there are a lot of bugs with applying icon packs. Example: I applied an icon pack, but not all of the icons were skinned. Example #2: I tried applying a different icon pack and it just didn't work. So, yeah.

Thanks!

This is probably down to the way the app works. It uses a highly experimental method of running Java code as root, so it's buggy. You may have to apply the icon pack a couple of times for it to work.

In terms of it not applying to all icons, which ones aren't skinned? Are they adaptive icons? If so, you need to either apply them manually or enable the option to apply to adaptive icons in the app's settings. This is disabled by default because 1.) adaptive icons are usually fairly well themed already, unless you're going for a totally different style and 2.) when their icons are changed, you get a glitched overlay when they're long pressed

    Version 2.4 now available:
    - Fixed crash on Android 13 QPR
    - Updated target to Android 13
    - Enabled predictive back
Download from GitHub releases as usual

Thanks for the update. You fixed that crash for QPR1 Beta 2 so fast! :)
Luckily it was just a one liner, someone renamed a (private, hidden) field I was doing reflection on. Shows they're working on widgets actually 👀

Has anyone faced battery drain when using pixel mods app with magisk module?
The only battery drain I have had is when I updated to Android 13. As far as mods they haven't really caused a difference in the amount of battery drain to be noticeable.
