I tried to use it on my Honor 7 with root and SuperSu 2.74. After rebooting, the selinux status is "enforcing"
I’m able to change it to "permissive", but after the next reboot it is gone!
Probably an issue with Supersu 2.74. Try an older version, like 2.68 (which I'm using).

I want to share how I get rid of the Google Play Store warning.
You simply remove the link to Play Store to know you have the app installed.

The .apk is rebuilt with Lucky Patcher. The file can be downloaded below in Attached files.

To rebuild apk file:

  1. Look at the Tab bar at the bottom of the screen
  2. Click: Rebuild & Install
  3. "select apk file"
  4. Rebuild
  5. APK without License Verification
  6. Deselect "auto mode"
  7. Select "Remove dependencies"
  8. Rebuild.

The rebuilt file can now be found in
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.android.vending.billing.InAppBillingService.LACK/files/LuckyPatcher/Modified/"your app"/"file".apk

You can apply this to any common .apk file. If for example your intention is to make the app a static version with no updates or Play Store warning.
Like ES File explorer older version before it became a malware app.
Or Swiftkey keyboard version before Microsoft took over the steering wheel.
good work, sir.

is V4A working for you after SElnux change?
i installed everything, and the driver is successful too but no sound different from speaker
oneplus 3 also, stock rom with root
I have a OnePlus 3 now running OxygenOS.
I have installed SuperSU by flashing it, installed the SElinuxmodechanger APK and granted SU permissions.
However even with it granted, it opens up saying "Unable to gain Root Access"

I tried to use it on my Nexus 5(6.0.1) with root and SuperSu 2.76.
Then the app showed "App was unable to gain root access"

---------- Post added at 08:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:38 AM ----------

Had the same problem. Try downloading the apk from f-droid or the one in post #392. Both work fine on my OP2 with systemless root!
thanks you'
i can use the app now

It seems it worked on my HTC one m7 , I need to disable SELinux enforcing mode to be able to install Xposed framework,
I still cant install it so i wanted to check it's status in Terminal Emulator but the linux usuall command, "sestatus" was not found.

how can I double check the SELinuxMode status in terminal ?

In terminal type "su", then "getenforce".

To set a status type "setenforce 0" for permissive or "setenforce 1"for enforcing settings.

SELinuxModeChanger fails to keep Permissive mode after reboot in Samsung Note 4 SM-N910C latest 6.0.1 Marshmallow (may 2016). KNOX related?

It's not KNOX related. If you use SuperSU, I think it's the culprit.
If you use Sammy official firmware or a stock based ROM, you won't have any fix I guess. But if you use a CM based ROM, you'll be able to use the CM built-in root app instead of SuperSU and then SELinuxModeChanger should work fine after a reboot.

I am trying to use SELinuxModeChanger but I get strange interactions as follows: http://oi65.tinypic.com/16iwcgg.jpg. This screenshot seems to be saying I am not rooted but below it also saying that app was granted permission. SuperSU is also configured well..

I am using rooted P9 Lite VNS-L31 with stock firmware. What could be the problem?

EDIT: Just fixed! Read a couple pages back on this thread that some people had the same problem on different devices. Can't believe it, but I got SELinuxModeChanger through F-Droid instead and it just worked. Doesn't even make sense to me but I'm happy. :D

Reaping your Soul
Probably discussed but I have a question and an FYI (before anyone says anything, I know Android is Linux based so don't be a [email protected]**)

Question: I just had an indepth talk with my CSO regarding SELinux states, but specifically relating to Linux. On Android, are there any real risks of keeping it in permissive? I certainly opens up a whole lot more customization with it set.

The FYI and this may not apply to Android but Desktop/Server linux does require a reboot for the SE State to truly change.
