Emoji Switcher

ptPps2S.png

This app will let you conveniently switch out the emoji in your system. Currently available emoji are Google (stock), Samsung, and iOS.

Requires:
  • Root
  • Busybox
  • KitKat (4.4+)

Credit for the emoji sets goes to user gonsa, in this thread.

Download from the Play Store.

Open-source on GitHub!

For those looking for HTC emoji:

Would anyone be willing to try building a .ttf for me using these tools?

I have the original M8 emoji font file, but it seems to be packaged differently. I would take a crack at it but school's starting up this week and I don't really have the time. Full credit will be given.

Thanks, worked like a charm on my S4 GPE!

Using hangouts texts I recieve/send now have iOS style. Unfortunately the emoticon picker doesn't, but it must have its own built in library i guess.

Meh they have a flashable one for ios. You could make the other two as well dont need busybox to flash em only plus side c;

But its a great idea would be better if it was like toolbox pro where you can change them and just reboot. But i dont see a point in installing busybox c:

Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app

That's exactly what this does.
Also, some people have reported it working without busybox.

Worked flawless and perfect with my Galaxy S5, thanks for your awsome work!
But you have update issue: Latest update does not apply permissions correctly, had to do it manually for emoji to show up.
Please fix this!

Downloaded this app just now and it works perfectly for me on nexus 5 PAC-rom. I love it.!

But I noticed the large app size (42.49MB) and considering the fact that more emoji packs might possibly be added in future updates making the size larger. I want to suggest that the APK and emoji packs are splitted. Emoji packs can then be downloaded inidvidually after app installation.

I hope there would be a preview of each emoji pack (even if its just an image) in future updates and am looking forward to HTC's emoji pack.
Thanks a lot! :)

Downloaded a font file for iOS emojis somewhere from xda. Worked perfectly, however, the flags wouldn't show. OP said it was a problem with android or something and it perceived the flags as two different characters. Your iOS emoji flags working, or do you face the same problem?

EDIT: Oops. I think I posted in the wrong forum. I'll post this in the original forum where the fonts were posted. Sorry.
