This does not work anymore, nor towelroot.

Just tried it both ways :crying:

Really...Maybe I did it wrong...followed instructions. No stranger to ADB but my first time rooting via ADB and over the network. Did you do anything special?

The only thing not in the instructions is
Adb connect "enter ip listed on ouya screen"

Without quotes. Fit most of the rest I just copied and pasted the command line.

I'm using ubuntu, and I'm trying to use this old method to root my OUYA. Not very friendly, so wonderlee needs to fix his apk.

Go to, http://ouyaboards.com/ouya-hacking-...d-framework-google-play-mod-collection-2.html and follow the steps in the first post (#1). You do not need a computer to root.

And what if the app is not updated


Do you have a rooted android tablet or phone?

Looks like there could be a way to root over wifi using them although I have not tried

Then you'd better get to it rather insinuating that the developer is somehow obligated to update the app. Sorry, but it rubs me wrong when people insist that a person NEEDS to perform services for them.
