I know nothing about these, but the following implies you can not achieve it with host / firewall blocks. Sounds similar to youtube ads not being blocked by hostsAnyone has figured out a list blocking the Admiral anti anti ad pop-ups?
Yeah from the thread it looks like it's a matter of cosmetic filters. The reason I asked is because there is actually a hosts list somewhere that is supposed to kill it, but it hasn't worked for me...I know nothing about these, but the following implies you can not achieve it with host / firewall blocks. There are hundreds of "YouTube ad block host files". But they dont work, just as the one you found does not work for For Admiral.Yeah from the thread it looks like it's a matter of cosmetic filters. The reason I asked is because there is actually a hosts list somewhere that is supposed to kill it, but it hasn't worked for me...
Sorry, not the list, but a site that displays the ad. Probably best if you delete it after I get it. No need to give them a free link.Sure, it's over at https://v.firebog.net/hosts/Admiral.txt . I found it on an issue on AdAway's GitHub...
Yes I know, the list is just a list of hosts, I converted it offline and added it.Sorry, not the list, but a site that displays the ad. Probably best if you delete it after I get it. No need to give them a free link.
PS: This list is not in the correct format for AdAway. So it would not work even if host blocking could block Admiral ads
I just tested both these websites, and after clicking "I Have Disabled My Ad Blocker" the site renders and I dont see any obvious ads. What should I expect?Yes I know, the list is just a list of hosts, I converted it offline and added it.
As for a site... XDA does it on the front page(not forum). Android Police is another.
are you talking of the pop-up asking to disengage your ad blocker?Ahhh no, the problem is not the ads, the problem is the popup itself!![]()
Yes, that's the Admiral pop-up.are you talking of the pop-up asking to disengage your ad blocker?

GitLab, like GitHub do not set LastModified HTTP header so update status is not supported... yet!Is anyone using a hosts list hosted on Gitlab? It keeps showing "Unknown update status".
It works well here. I failed to reproduce as I change the HTTP client library and how I use it.Hmm, not working for me for this URL, v4.1.0 shows something like not updated in -360 days (some large negative value). Can you please see if you can reproduce?

Not really. You could choose a lot of different mode. All the F-Droid apps I know of have manual push updates to the store.
Isn't automatic build basically for nightlies?
Thank you so much! :highfive:I exist still... do you know what i have to do to transfer ownership? if i edit project it doesn't let me change the primary author so i assume i have to PM some higher up to make this happen?
Thank you too!
