The 16k base database is not for any specific country and contains a mix. It's also years old. You need the regional database downloaded, which it has not done, to recognise Indian songs.

Bro, the database download is endless, and although it finishes, in the startup screen it still says that it is downloading to start the recognition, is there any way to install the database manually, as an obb or data file, a Magisk module or something like that.

If it still shows that message, it hasn't finished. It's not possible to do it manually.

How long have you left it for, without force stopping, rebooting or clearing data?

No, that means it hasn't downloaded. 16k is the base database size. How long did you leave it between rebooting/clearing data/force stopping?

A fully downloaded database is usually around 70k tracks. You're not answering my question, how long did you leave it to download without clearing data, force stopping, rebooting etc? Usually being impatient and interfering with the process causes this.

Is your device rooted? I have an idea. You could create a backup with Swift Backups app which is excellent and upload it to Gdrive, Media Diré, Mega and then the user ( me ) restoring that copy could already have the full app downloaded. Please could you do that?

I use the UK database. If it's still not downloaded, clear the data once of the Now Playing app (not Ambient Music Mod), which will reset the download. Then actually let it sit overnight, and it will download.

What is this now? That is after deleting the Play Now data. It doesn't matter that you have the UK database, send a backup as I told you please.

That means the database has loaded, unless the updates screen still shows 16k. It's telling you an app is playing audio, which prevents Now Playing from working. You can't play audio and recognise at the same time.

Uninstall and reinstall Ambient Music Mod and Now Playing from the system settings, there was also someone with a non-AOSP device who reported that it fixed itself when the database loaded, so that might happen for you too (leave it overnight to see).

If it still doesn't, probably nothing I can do given that's a permissions error and not something the mod handles.

I'm not going to send a backup, no. That sets a precedent that everyone will suddenly want backups. Updates to the database happen every couple of weeks, there are 17 databases, sending backups for everyone who asks would take an enormous amount of time - it's not happening.

The download is handled by code beyond AMM's control, as I have already said. If it does not work, there is nothing I can do to help beyond what has already been provided.

In that case, as I said, it's a permissions error on your device and is not something that can be fixed.

Hello, I just set up the app on my device and it works smoothly. I wanted to know if there is a way to not download any database since I would like to use On Demand only because it works like Shazam, if I understand correctly.

And is Now Playing supposed to display music on Always-on-Display since it doesn't display on mine and I would really love that, thank you.
