Recommended Installation
1. Back up your current version with whatever you use to backup (titanium, mybackup, etc)
2. Use Astro, or another file manager to install this new apk normally. Apk is signed, so it shouldn't be an issue.

If that give u trouble, It also works to use Titanium Backup, Backup, uninstall, install new apk, restore Data only. If you do that, make sure you do the 'Important Note' too.

IMPORTANT NOTE
In this recent (.36) version, some had issues with receiving GV notifications--myself included. What fixed it for me:
Menu > More > Settings > Sync & Notification > Receive Text Messages > Toggle whichever option you would like.
Also make sure everything else you want to be ticked there, is.


This is an old note, but if it applies to your situation...
I use Google Voice and Handcent (I don't anymore). I keep Google Voice Notifications OFF and all texts go thru handcent.
I've noticed that whenever I reinstall the GV app, my text message forwarding gets disabled.
It's a super simple fix. You can test by just sending yourself a text message.

It would depend on your set up, but this is what I do after installing.
Google voice (app) settings - turn notifications OFF (and inbox sync ON, by default)
In your browser, go to google.com/voice
Settings > Phones > EDIT (cell) > Text Settings (Receive Text messages), Check box > SAVE.

Ya, I definitely wanna pick this back up soon. I still haven't quite figured out remapping the pngs from the ICS framework, which it didn't do with GB. I'll check with some other guys to see if they can help.

K, just finished the new inverted version - ICS compatible, lots of png edits to make more ICSsssy.. here's some screencaps too.

Will update the OP later. Give it a test run tho to see if there's anything funky that I missed.

Very nicely done! The look of the non inverted voice it's why I never used it for texting. That may change with your themed version.

Does this handle mms and split messages after 160 characters correctly?

I've checked and it seems to handle split messages just fine. However I don't see any way to use it to send mms, it only does sms. I'm sure this has nothing to do with the inverted them, more likely it's that Google Voice doesn't support it.

google voice does not support mms unless on sprint network sms only

They are testing a (sort of) mms support feature, where if you turn on the 'forward text messages to email ' feature from the Google voice website settings, it will receive mms messages to your email account. ..its not ideal, but better than just not receiving them.

Something I noticed. When in landscape the compose area is not inverted. I don't use it much that way. Just thought I would let you know.
