Update v0.4.2.44

K, just finished -- so there's a lot of changes in this version.. but not a lot visually.

I'll post here first if you guys wanna test it out. It mostly looks the same as my previous version, except I left the new original icon... cuz it's kinda cool.

If you guys wanna check it out, here u go. I ran thru the basics, and everything seems to be fine, but let me know if you see anything. Sent and received a bunch of texts and all is working as it should

You're awesome man, I really appreciate it. Funny how having the white for 3 hours last night made me wanna use Handcent again.

I really really love this inverted version of Google Voice. Your ICS tweaks are just beautiful. Other than the black on black login screen already noted (this is an issue on the setup screen for how you want GV to handle phone calls, as well), which is really a non-issue because you can see the choices when you highlight them, this version works perfectly on my Galaxy Nexus. Thanks for he beautiful work!

OP Updated with new version
Only thing I'm still working on fixing is the black login account... still hunting it down. For now, as GirLuvsDroid pointed out, if you click on the account name, you can see it. But all else should be cool

Report if any issues, and thx for the feedback, pps.

Looks great Alex. Thanks for the mention on the notification icon piece.

One suggestion, and let me know your thoughts. Your current icon for contacts that have no picture stored has a bit of a light brown, almost olive-ish, color tone. What do you think about converting that to 'greyscale'? The Holo UI already has a lot of greys in it, and I think making those the cyan-ish color might be overkill to your UI as a whole.

Maybe something like this:

Thanks again for the awesome work.

Hey - for sure to consider. I agree that a cyan (or #ff3f9bbf, or "moderate cerulean".. lol) color was overkill on top of already overkilled. Originally, the rationale behind the light brown was to bring in a complimentary color to balance it out. But it probably shows up diff on my device (as well as others), especially b/c of my voodoo color settings. But color snobbery aside, totally open to suggestions and like your screen shot. I'll mess around with it for the next update.

Heh... I could talk about colors and/or fonts pretty much all day long. Thx for the consideration.

decalex, I'm not sure if you're aware that thebowers had a project started like this on droidforums a while back. He didn't keep up with the updates so I kinda figured it out and ran with it. I think you've got a great look going. I tried your version out on CM7 for DroidX with ICS theme and had a couple areas with unreadable text. I know you aren't testing on gingerbread so that may be the issue. If anyone else is having the same problem, you might want to take a look at my version. Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but if you're curious come check it out.

No prob at all-- anything thebowers has to do with, I'm all for ;) I prob wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for his work.

But, fwiw, the changes I made to the Androidmanifest.xml are not really ideal.. but I massaged it the best I could to achieve the effect on ICS. I know there's a better way to keep the references within the apk, rather than pull from the framework-res ... which is why it's been a problem on GB.. afaik. That was one of the major changes I saw (from google) in this latest update-- as it seems to reference all locally. I'll take a look at yours tomor.
