how to disable automatic answer and hangup?

Hello,

I'm sorry if this is a bit off topic but I've searched and can't find a relevant thread. Ever since I "upgraded" my Fuze to ROM version 5.11.502.2, it automatically answers the phone whenever it is moved into Portrait orientation, and automatically ends the call when it is Face_Down. This is extremely annoying, as it often auto-answers in my pocket before I even know it's ringing, and it hangs up if I turn it upside down to use the speakerphone. I was hoping TICSTv1.2.0 might override this function, but to no avail. It switches to speakerphone briefly when I put it Face_Down, but then hangs up almost immediately. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You are right, it's not something that TICST can help you with, I'm afraid.

However, the behaviour you describe sounds very strange. I suggest the following:

1. Check to see whether you've installed any software, or have any settings that would cause this behaviour. (I'm guessing you've done this already, but take a look to see what settings are in Settings | Personal | Phone | Advanced / More / etc)
2. Try a hard reset and see if the behaviour returns to normal.
3. Flash a different ROM.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hello and thank you for this great app.
My phone is a Diamond 2 (WM 6.1, Orange ROM) and I've got a little annoyance : when I put the phone horizontaly, the display goes back on but it returns to the Manila today page and doesn't remain on the WM standard dialer.
When using voice mail, to get the keyboard and the dialer, I've to tap on the left softkey. I must repeat this several times when listening my voice mail.
Do you have an explanation and a setting to change ?
Thanks for you answer.

Hi,

I can't really explain it, but the only option(s) that are likely to have an effect on that are to be found in the "Options" tab of the TICST configuration panel; "Show phone as screen on" should show the dialer, and the secondary option "Auto-press left softkey" should hopefully switch on the keypad for you.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi,
Thanks for your help.
I ticked the two options but it doesn't work better.
I've tried without launching Manila and it worked.
So the problem may be related to Manila.
I'm keeping on searching...

Thanks for the tip, Steve. I did check all those options and I can't find anything that affects this "feature" aka bug. I did a hard reset recently, and that's what created the problem! I suppose I could revert back to the original ROM, but I'd rather not have to do that. As for other installed software, I haven't installed much since my reset (grabbed this list from Settings -> Remove Programs):

HTC HTC Application Service
OZ Instant Messaging
Total Commander
Gyrator 2
Fabliv Action Screen 9 Btn
.NET CF 3.5
Google Maps
Fann Software Simple Timers
TICST 1.2.0

I can't find settings in any of these apps that would affect phone calls, so I'm at a loss. What I'd really like to find is registry entries that control the settings for my bug, but I slogged through a lot of the registry files last night and didn't find anything.

Any more ideas, anyone?

Thanks!

Are you saying that before the hard reset with this ROM it all worked fine? If so, I'd go for a hard reset, it's possible you've just got something glitching in there and a hard reset will sort it out.

Steve.

Release Notes

The logging option is provided for people who find they have problems with odd behaviour. The log file will be written to the Touch_InCall_Screen_Tweak.txt in the root of your device. It will get pretty big, pretty quick so if you make/receive lots of calls the best idea might be to switch it on for a short while, use the phone, make a copy of the log file to upload to this thread, and then switch it off if you are filling up your storage space.

i didn't notice this txt file until my phone started to tell me memory was getting small. then i checked and found this txt file size is 67m! i follow the suggestion on the help of the apps that to open this file then make a call then disable to write the log. however, i even can't open this 67m file, it says error occurs each time mobile word opens it. so can anyone tell me what to do? can i just disable it from the apps then simple delete the file?

any help would be appraciated.

That's very strange - the most likely cause of that problem is that you've got a part of your registry missing that TICST is expecting to find.

Can you check with a registry editor that you have the following registry key:

LocalMachine\System\State\Phone

Thanks.

Cheers,

Steve.

Thanks for the quick response.

The key does exist.

That's odd. I'm not really sure what's causing that then.

Does it happen all the time, or only under certain circumstances?

Cheers,

Steve.

The error started when I updated the ROM to Energy 20oct, prior ROM's were fine.
I have just flashed the 25oct ROM and still the same issue, but without installing Touch InCall, so the error appears for other software as well. I think this might be in relation to the .net installed on this ROM.

At least it isn't my fault then. ;)
