Well maybe that was my problem then. I thought the app was telling me to switch from WCDMA Preferred to a GSM mode. I will try again today and report back. Thanks!![]()
I got T-Mobile 15 minutes ago on WCDMA Preferred. Make sure you go to mobile network setting and register onto the respective GSM Network.
On the rich man's HTC, sipping on some Moonshine.
It worked! After setting to WCDMA Preferred, I went to Settings->Mobile data->Available GSM networks->Search and then selected T-Mobile and I got a cell signal. I did have to restart the phone for GSM data to show up. Thanks again guys!Well maybe that was my problem then. I thought the app was telling me to switch from WCDMA Preferred to a GSM mode. Huh?Where you having Sprint HTC ONe ???
The SIM unlock only requires root and a Sense ROM. I'm not sure if it works on the 4.2.2 port, I'd advise using a stock ROM. Some custom ROMs might remove the hidden HTC app that I call to, but that's unlikely. But try a stock 4.1.2 Sense ROM if you have issues. This unlock will only works if i have stock rom and any update from sprint?
I mean the updates block gsm connections??
Technically, just rooting the device will allow your phone to keep talking to the Sprint update server. Custom ROMs should remove that ability, updates will fail if you're rooted for various reasons, but you'll be constantly notified that there is an update from Sprint, even though it will fail when you try to update the software. Can I software updates after root HTC one?

Thanks for letting me know, I'll include some more detailed instructions in the next update. Also, a button to open the network settings menu (if I can do it without the dialer, I'm sure there is a way).Well maybe that was my problem then. I'm not going to say this again. This thread IS NOT for general or technical discussion of SIM unlocking. I linked 2 threads in first post where you can ask these kinds of questions.gr8. but i wud like to know is there a way can use cdma sims & use it. coz in asia CDMA sims are avail.
also if unlock for gsm is it poss to use cdma - sprint again ?
This is nothing short of amazing! Do you think there is any way that you could make one for the Sprint S4?Sprint HTC One SIM Unlock Helper

Hey guys, I've put my improving Java skills (thanks college!) to use and made a free app to help you with SIM unlocking your Sprint HTC One. I couldn't think of a good name, but I think the name is self-explanatoryI made a post in the General and Q&A threads that involved SIM unlocking, but then I figured it would be best to make a dedicated thread for the app so that (hopefully) I'm not being asked for help with the unlocking process, but just for app issues/suggestions. This will allow your phone to use 3G (HSPA+) and 1900Mhz coverage areas on T-Mobile and AT&T. I'll just copy and paste from Google Play so you don't have to click on a link

If this method (or similar) works for other One's on different carriers, please let me know and I will make this app compatible with more phones. If you want to try it but you don't know if this method works on your phone, contact me and we'll talk about a test version, but I will not be held liable if you brick your phone.
Please post if you have any issues with the app (you can email me a log from the Menu) or if you have any suggestions. For general SIM unlocking talk, this is not the place for it. Please visit the thread in General or the one in Q&A. Thanks and enjoy![]()
Yes, once you're unlocked, you're unlocked.Hey -viperboy-, if i go to viper rom sim unlock and then go back to a non sense rom would it work? (like we used to do for the GPS Lock issue)
I don't know the unlock procedure for it, I doubt it's like this is. I'll take a look, but don't count on it. I don't like to do things like this without having the phone. This is nothing short of amazing! Do you think there is any way that you could make one for the Sprint S4?
Ok so I went back to sense, installed the app and followed instructions, am i supposed to have a confirmation or something? I inserted A friend's sim and didn't get any errors so I assume it worked. is this is only data, i made a call and went thought but don't know if was under t-mobil or sprint networkYes, once you're unlocked, you're unlocked.

If you hit the back button after tapping sim unlock, it should take you to a confirmation page.Ok so I went back to sense, installed the app and followed instructions, am i supposed to have a confirmation or something? Probably not, the procedure for the Sprint S4 is much more complicated than starting an activity as rootThis is nothing short of amazing! Do you think there is any way that you could make one for the Sprint S4?
Was that you that posted the 2 star review on the app in the play store?Hi viperboy,
I seems to be having an issue with this tool. I used an earlier version but not having any other sim cards can't verify if it worked. Your latest version should, however, indicate whether the procedure was successful or not. When I run it and backing out after clicking on "sim lock" not only I don't get any confirmation, but the logs are empty too. Any ideas what's going on?
