I am pleased to present my first Wear OS app, Peek News. It is available for open testing and I would love to get some feedback from the XDA community. The app is free for XDA members with a promo code.

Please note: The app works with newspaper type rss feeds that are xml based. e.g. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/rss or https://rss.nytimes.com/services/xml/rss/nyt/World.xml

Hi, I would like to test your app.

Version 1.4.0 is live in the store. The logo is changed. There is also a new tile where you can see the latest piece of news from your feeds. I recommend using automatic updates set on 15 minutes so you always have up-to-date news on your tile. In my tests, this uses virtually no battery (although I only have 3 feeds installed). The other improvement is that news items are now sorted according to latest first. Hope you like the update! Feedback welcome.

It's very good, it works very well. Yesterday I noticed that without internet connection you can't read the feeds, it shows a warning that says "Loading error! This could be due to poor connectivity or to anincorrect URL.". My watch is not LTE and I was not near my phone so it would be linked and get the feeds from the internet.

I suggest you enable a feature that when there was no internet connection you could read the feeds that were downloaded the last time you had internet, and when there was internet as there is now, logically,

Hi, and I should thank you here for all your help getting this update ready!

The ability to read feeds offline is already there. Maybe you are on "update when opening"? This is the only situation where the app will try to update and then warn you about connectivity if there is no internet. If you switch to "None" in the Settings, you should see your feeds again? If that's the case, I will think about sorting something out for users who use "update when opening". :)

That's right! I had marked "Update when open", I will leave it on automatic updates set on 15" as you recommend.

    Hello.
    Great app!
Can you make Update the feeds automatic?
And when i read an article and switch back to the table of Contents i am again on the top.
Would be better to go back to last entry.
I can indeed sort these two things out. Will add them to my list! :)
