Hi guys, I have now sorted out the situation where you read an article and then navigate back. The position in your list is now remembered. I have not pushed the update yet. I wanted to know if you also want the position remembered if you leave the list altogether (for instance to read another rss feed) and come back to it later. Or is it better to go back to the start of the list in that use case?
I think it would be better to Start of the list in this case

Hey when i insert the rss feed into the app, most of the times, only the main headline of the news is displayed and even if the news content is displayed, only snippets are seen. Is there a way to have the full news content visible instead of just snippets or only headlines because i want to know the news even if i dont have my phone beside me. Thanks

Hi there, could you give me the addresses of the feeds in question so I can investigate? Also, what version of Peek News on the watch are you using?

Hey thanks for replying
I am not sure how to check the version but I installed from the play store today so i assume it is the latest one.
The feeds I used were:

Please do tell me if you find a solution because I am really eager to find a good alternative to google news on the watch. Thanks

Ok, if you click on the links that you gave me, you will see what info has been published by the news outlet. In the first three cases, there are several titles without any content, and when there is content, it is very limited. In the last case, there are just lists of links. The problem is therefore not coming from Peek News but from the RSS feeds that you have selected. In any case, RSS feeds tend to only give you snippets (although some of them are longer than others). You can click on "Open On Phone" to see the whole article on your phone should you wish to. Hope this helps!

Ok so the rss was the problem. Do you know any well known rss feeds which provie full news articles instead of snippets and how to recognize feeds which have full information from the ones that just have snippets? Also is there any way to modify the rss so that the ones which dont provide full news show the entire article on peek news?

As far as I know, RSS feeds are by definition a list of summaries, but maybe someone else might know differently?

To show the full article on Peek News, I would have to add this as a new feature. I would do it if lots of people want it, but it would take time because I have already been asked for a lot of new features, here or by email/private message.

Technically though, as per Google wear os guidelines, your app should not require lengthy activities: "Focus apps on critical tasks to help people get things done within seconds to avoid ergonomic discomfort or arm fatigue" and "Generally, when obtaining data from the internet, get only the necessary data. Otherwise, you may introduce unnecessary latency, memory use, and battery use."

Alright, appreciate your help. Thanks for the support!

Hey! I pushed an update this morning and hope it will be live fairly soon, hopefully tomorrow. You can now schedule for your feeds to be refreshed at regular intervals so that there is no need to update them manually. There is also improved parsing for Atom 1.0 feeds.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Hi guys, would anyone be willing to be an Internal Tester for Peek News? All I would need from you is to try the app before I push it to the Playstore to make sure it is not crashing.

Why? I just pushed an update that was working well on my watch and on the Android emulator, and within minutes received a number of emails telling me that the app was crashing. I would rather avoid this rather stressful situation in future!

Yeah, don't worry, I can test it.

    Hello.
    Great app!
Can you make Update the feeds automatic?
And when i read an article and switch back to the table of Contents i am again on the top.
Would be better to go back to last entry.
I can indeed sort these two things out. Will add them to my list! :)

I am pleased to present my first Wear OS app, Peek News. It is available for open testing and I would love to get some feedback from the XDA community.
