It should work in that case then. It's the Windows OS that handles wifi going to sleep when the device does, and that's what this application stops happening. I would understand it not working on a different version of Windows, but it should work on the same version.

Would you do me a favour mate? If you do find an app that keeps your wifi awake when the device is suspended, would you send me a link to the thread so I can see how it works? I'd appreciate it!

Thanks a lot :)

yea mate

I'll have a look into it and see what I can do :)

Thanks a lot for the comment. I'm glad it's getting some good use and being helpful :)
on the other hand, i did try to edit under the setting of registry(source from xda-members here), though came out in vain....i hope you can find out any solution...hehe....what so far i know, probably the only way to keep wifi on standby mode is "uncheck" the Start/Settings/Syetem/Power/, under the "Power", there's Advanced, then like i said "uncheck" Turn off device if not used for, done!
thanks

I've got a potential solution. Once I've coded and cabbed it I'll send you a message so you can beta test it for me, if you don't mind.

Thanks for the help so far :)

I don't see the problem, of course having wifi enabled for a long time (also in standby) is going to drain your battery. When you don't want that, turn wifi off.
The point is, that with WifiNoStandby you can actually use skype, download big files from the internet, or stay connected to your IM service - even though your device goes into standby mode.

Well I was tipped that leaving WiFi on would keep my mediaplayer working while the screen was turned off. But it turns out that the WiFi connection kept the HD2 alive so the mediaplayer would continue playing. After 2 minutes WiFi would timeout, the phone would fall asleep and the music would stop.
