Hi, New Update!

Here is a simple guide how to set your phone speed to 691 Mhz steady and working!
Hi,

The point of this application, as far as I understand, was to simplify OCing into a simple 'one application' reliable install replacing Msm7kCpuSpeed and associated scripts and tweaks.

Given time, I'm certain iwfratz will be able to refine it for Blackstone too.

I would include support for this rom but you have to give me a download-link where I can download it without any login (except xda-developers), entering a serial-number or anything else. Please, I won't search around and spend more time than necessary to support YOUR special rom.
Please accept this procedure.
didn't think there was anything special about the stock uk vodafone rom but if you pm your email i'll send it as an attachment as i don't have a link other than the htc europe website where you will need a serial number.:)

it was as u said indeed... and i was wondering why. and i found the answer..the thing is. over 602MHZ (for blackstone which cap is 528mhz) it is dangerous for the device so it will either freeze or restart. most people even use it at 672 or over 700!

so if u set it at 602mhz it will be just fine and wont freeze at all and out of danger :)
My Blackstone always :) worked at 633 MHz without any problems. reviously I used Msm7kCpuSpeed by NetRipper and now WiMoSpeed. Sometimes it run at 710 MHz but it have to be set after completely loading system/Manila, otherwise device reboots. And yes, speed increase is really visible.

My Topaz is using WiMoSpeed at 672 MHz (27 % overclocked) and everything is working great: no problems with phone calls, GPS, applications.

As mentioned by WallyGator, I run WiMoSpeed right after sytem/Manila is up and running, instead of using "StartUp" approach.

So far, battery drain while overclocking seems normal. Using tBattery (an utility included at Energy ROMs) I can say there's no an evident difference at the electric current used with and without overclock, on battery operation.

After running my CPU @ 806Mhz for two days, I noticed something that caused me some concerns when browsing on WiFi (some pages took too long to open), so I did a few test with HTC Sense. If I took my finger and moved the sense left and right (home to settings and settings to home) as fast as I can, the TP2 will only lag after the 4 round of going back and forth. Now this is running at 806, it did the same thing all the way down till I got to 748. At 748 and at 729 I could move the sense left and right as fast as I can with no lag indefinitely. Meaning, I could not lag it before I got tired of using my finger left and right. Of course if you use the default speed 528Mhz, sense will lag after the first or second time going as fast as you can from home to settings and back to home. So I will now keep my speed at 748, since it performs much better than it did at 806Mhz! When I used the stylus, it doesn't lag too bad at default speed. But I like not having to use the stylus, this Overclock tool is a must!!!!!!!!

The point I took from this is, you can overclock too much and lose performance. So find the sweet spot for you device and enjoy!:)

Thanks. That's good to hear. It would appear that the CPU has inbuilt protection. It will crash and not burn.

I have never had anything worse than a just a freeze happen
to any of my devices on any overclocking programs I ever had
(about 5 over the years).
I highly doubt anything worse could happen,
infact flashing a bad rom/radio combo would be worse
by making unit overheat.

The hardest I could stress my hardware was running GPS and charging at same time.

Worries of overclock are for me, unfounded.

It's like asking a juggler to go faster untill he he trips up and drops them...
Does the juggler get hurt? No he just has to be "restarted".
thats how I see it..

Hi, New Update!

Here is a simple guide how to set your phone speed to 691 Mhz steady and working!

1) Extract the zip and copy all files to your device any were you like.

2) Install the best application that made by iwfratz no credit for me!!! WiMoSpeed_V1.02.CAB

3) Install application that can show you on what speed you are now, don’t use it to set the speed it's not stable. Again no credit for me, Msm7kCpuSpeed_v2.cab

4) Install the most important application that will hold the speed stable after phone wake up! Also not my creation! SetCpuSpeed-1.0d.cab
Follow the installation guide set the speed to 691 but don’t set it to auto run on startup!

5) Now copy those two files StartCPU-Boost.mscr StopCPU-Boost.mscr to \Program Files\

6) First run the link WiMoSpeed_691.lnk

7) Second run the link StartCPU-Boost.lnk

Now you can see at the Msm7kCpuSpeed program that you are on 691 MHz!

Now you can put your phone to sleep and after 5 minus wake it up and check the speed, it's will be 691Mhz and steady!!!

Till here is the guide how to manually over clock your phone after it's fully booted and ready.

If you want all of this to happen automatically on start up you will need more work to be done.!

Here is the auto start up guide!!! (For advanced users)

Before you do those make shore that your phone working steady and no problem with over clock base on the first guide!!!!
If you set your phone to auto load, then over clock and its will stuck on start up all you can do is HARDRESET!!!!
Use it on your own risk!!!

Or you can save all files on Storage Card and fix my links to your destination folder.
And in case of stuck on boot, you can remove the Storage card from phone and load normally!
In case of phone stuck, try to increase the delay times for all links and see if that help.
If nothing helps then your phone is not compatible with over clock this way.

1) Copy file delayedExec.exe to \Program Files\
This small program does a wonderful thing!!!
Its delay start up of application on start up for time you set and make the phone load better and prevent (Stuck on start up when you load lots of applications)

Example of link string to delay application startup: "\Program Files\delayedExec.exe" 200 "\Program Files\StartCPU-Boost.mscr"
200 = seconds after boot! = 3min 20sec

2) Copy files WiMoSpeed_614-87.lnk , WiMoSpeed_691-92.lnk , StartCPU-Boost-200.lnk to \windows\startup\

The 87 / 92 / 200 = seconds after boot,

Check you’re self that all files in place and do reboot.

If the phone is ON and working fine after 3min 25sec! And you are on 691 MHz then you did all fine!

Now you have an over clocked phone and it's will stay that way all the time!

If you want to stop the over clock then remove the above files from \windows\startup\ and reboot.

If you want to stop the auto set speed after phone wake up, then you can run the StopCPU-Boost.lnk

Have fun!

Big thanks to all creators of the programs that i have provided here!
All of them i found here on XDA!

Why would you use the "SetCpuSpeed - 1 . 0 d . cab " app that was meant to control the "Msm 7 kCpuSpeed " app ,
and which has it in the cab itself ,
have anything to do with the new "WinMoSpeed " app ?

Why would the associated scripts have anything to do with " WinMoSpeed "?

To prove it is actually the WinMoSpeed app , and not Msm 7 kCpuSpeed working,
Uninstall : delete the " Msm 7 kCpuSpeed " associated folder , both in " Program Files " in device AND the mem card ....

Wasn't going to say anything originally but I didn't quite get the reasoning here either. I have the feeling of having missed something, is this intended to add a startup delay to WiMo's OC settings, or what?

To dorimanx (who wrote the guide),

Msm7kCpuSpeed is ONE of the overclock tools.
OCT is ONE of the overclock tools.
WimoSpeed is ONE of the overclock tools (successor of OCT)

Msm7kCpuSpeed CANNOT be used at the same time with ANOTHER overclock tool (wimospeed/OCT)

StartCPU-Boost.mscr and StopCPU-Boost.mscr = is mortscript written for Msm7kCpuSpeed to prevent SOD occured when phone went to SLEEP, made/received a phone call,
or if the Lockscreen engaged.

Hi,

I think you didn't get it,
I will explane one's more.

The Wimospeed is great tool, but for now it's has a bug on Blackstone devices!
when you power down the device and wake it up again the speed is cut by 2! if i set 691 then i get 345.

So i have used a combination of two program that works fine together by the way, one is setting the speed and hold the phone in normal state (no freeze) and the SetCPU app is setting the speed to 691 after wake up!
now i have what i want :)

Hope it's clear now.
My guide is only for Blackstone device! ( HTC HD)

Thanks.
If you have a better idea how to make it work be my guest.

The Msm7kCpuSpeed program cant get my phone to work without power pluged in.

So when i found the wimospeed and tried it and found that phone is steady on 710 and no power connected i was very happy,
the i found a bug that cut the speed in half after wakeup.

So i have found a way to make it work.
But to make it work on startup i had to delay the startup of wimospeed 90 sec and the setcpu 93 sec ofter system load.
or my phone just stuck on boot.

if you like you can activate the app after full load manually or use my guide to start it automatically on each boot.

Hope it's clear.

TIP: If you want to see that things are stable, open a new text message under all messages so it does the auto-capitalize and punctuation, then type two full messages as quickly as you can. Spelling doesn't matter, but it seems that is one of the most strenuous things WinMo can do. If you make it through two messages without freezing, it's most likely stable for anything else. This method has always worked for me.

It's working Great on my Rhodium (TP2 Rhod400) on Energyrom CHT 2.0 Dinik. Finally booting into android without having to reboot or do the button shuffle! :) Just put a shortcut for your max overclock in the windows/startup folder (after you know its stable), and put a link in the windows/start menu/wimospeed folder so you can assign it as a quick link if needed for booting android or anything else requiring stock speed. Remember. 0 is stock speed.

Great Job Iwfratz!!

Hi!
I have Garmin-Asus M10 with Qualcomm MSM 7227 600MHz CPU.
Unfortunately your tool doesn't work on my device (in fact Msm7kCpuSpeed or OCT didn't work either). When I try to lunch it says: Can't find library DLL PInvoke 'WiMoSpeed.dll'. (the file: WiMoSpeed.dll is in the same dir that WiMoSpeed.exe).
Any solution with that? I can add my ROM ver and radio, but is it necessary in case my device?
Regards.
