Thanks buddy for your feedback... If anyone would like to donate me a unit I would be happy to convert the app to the unit. Infact I even asked google but I dont think it got to the right people as I didn't get any reply.

Google doesn't want to make it easy to do this stuff. For one, it undermines Google Play. They want most to use apps on Google Play, not make it easier to bypass. For two, they want people who are savvy to learn adb and fastboot. That's the downside of Google... they always go for the 80/20.

If you're in the informed 20, they want you to do it the most painful way possible... so you learn how to build AOSP and compile apps. They want to force you to become an engineer. I'm not kidding.

Big fan of your work with the Fire TV. Good to see a familiar developer over in the Shield TV forum, it's easing the transition :) . Looking forward to any upcoming bells and whistles.

Thank you for this great app! Reminds me of the ADBFire app.

Are there plans to add the ability to copy our own Kodi configuration files to the NSTV?

Same issue. Says it is connected when I connect through the app.. but then says not connect when trying to sideload. If I type adb devices, it shows the device but says it is offline. Looks like the latest software updated locked everything down. After reboot I also get device unauthorized.

It didn't work for me too.
But after I enabled developer options in shield:
Open Settings> About> Software Information> More.
Then tap “Build number” seven times to enable Developer options. ...
Go back to Settings menu and now you'll be able to see “Developer options” there.
Tap it and turn on USB Debugging from the menu on the next screen.
Tap to turn on Network debugging.

On first connection You have to accept it on Shield (trust this connection)

It's working fine now

OK.
I found the problem.
adb doesn't want to authenticate over network, until you do it first via usb and accept.

so first usb then network

Can't seem to get it to work over network. Enabled both network and usb debugging. Says its connected. Asks me to confirm a dialogue on the SATV, but no dialogue appears on the SATV. What to do? Tried connecting via USB and it works, but network not working.

Hi!
I resolved the WiFi auth issue by installing ADB WiFi - Reborn.

Because of XDA silly external URL limitation for newbies like me, I can't post URL's to the app, but you may search for ADB Wireless Device Unauthorized in google and look to a specific Stack Overflow question that states
When connecting a device (like LG G2) with ADB Wireless, the device shows up as unauthorized. Why does this happen?

In that question, look for the answer that states

Maybe you could use the ADB WiFi(an Android App).I use it and the device showed in the Android studio is authorized(Forget to tell,I use USB connect to the Mac ,then the phone will promote a dialog to author the mac to debug the phone).

    Hi Guys,

I've created GUI app to easily sideload your apks to the Nvidia Shield TV via USB or over the Network. I will be updating it over time with extra bells and whistles.

The link below will direct you to the download page where you will find the app.

    attachment.php

Mod edit: download links removed (PPC links are not allowed).

    1. Unzip the folders to "C:\NSTV"
    2. Launch app "Nvidia Shield TV Utility App.exe"

    Confirmed working on Win7, Win8 and Win10

Feel free to ask any question's, post any comments or concerns, or make suggestions for things you might like to see

    Great application @imtiajmeah !

..but, this gives me an idea, can I install apks by sideload directly from my phone?

    Thanks!
I believe you can. I tried it with my M8s box but haven't yet with the Shield. Use ES file Explorer, go to network and add android tv and add the Shield. Now i believe you have to have the app installed. There will be a section on ES File titles "APP" go to that find your app and long press it. One of your options will be install to phone or install to Android tv. Choose TV and it installs.
