I think that it would be worthwhile creating an app that is much more simple than snapprefs or tools and just create a save snap/share from gallery feature for the latest Snapchat release.
I've been trying to create my own app to do just that and learning code along the way and post it to Xposed seeing as nobody else has but it seems fairly difficult for my limited knowledge lol.

Yea lol you'd think it'd be simple just to do that but it's not and the pros aren't helping
You have to understand that Snapchat is not used by most devs and is seen as a child's app that most wish wasn't around. So no real dev will touch anything to do with the app.
okay then that's fine too but there's always some one out there willing to help cause as you clearly see there's an audience for the SC space
Well then this is the perfect place to learn to do it yourself. I mean to be honest saving a snapchat makes zero sense. It they wanted then to be saved then they would use a messaging app or mms. Saving them while trying to hide it to be honest is a bit creepy to say the least. Also you have to understand that every dev that does something like this takes the chance of being sued.
So by all means. Rip the app apart with apktool and dig in.
true your right cause we've seen a decent amount of xposed apps shutdown cause of the brands coming for them
besides me I wouldn't learn I'd just pay someone to rebuild it cause with this build I hear it's nightmare to figure out

It's basically saying Prefs will work on this Snap build but who ever is doing this has yet make or release the Xposed repo no testing but something seems off why would you build for a beta apk tho & it's a yr old
There are devs from India on Fiverr that will do this for basically 100$. I sent an request for sending images/videos from gallery (thats all i need) and they did a custom utility built like snapprefs adjusted to my phone. It may be a bit laggy sometimes (snapprefs was too tbh) but totally worth it for me.
The dev said the codes were completely the same they just did inbound hash he somehow did bypass it. He also said there was completely unnecessary code in it. Told me Snapprefs was built on a app building kit with templates. That may answer the question why there are no updates for snapprefs, devs a newbie. Only thing thats the same i have to stay logged in snapchat forever, which is draining my battery faster but meh cant complain about everything.

So let me get this straight, you paid someone $100 to write a program that does what is out there for free? I know SnapPrefs is long dead but there is that other one that still works perfect and its totally free. LoL Then again, its your money, not mine.
So you assume based off my username that I have no money? As a very successful business owner of close to 20 years, my bank account says different but that's besides the point. You can certainly pay someone $1k a month for an app to save snaps undetected if you choose too. I dont need to save snaps that bad that I would pay a bunch of money like that. I will certainly support a dev, but I wont pay $100 just to be able to save snaps. Heck, you can send me $500 a month and I will gladly do it for you.
Also, if you used this thing called Google, or even browse around this topic, you will easily find it. Im not going to talk about it anymore in this topic as its been mentions a hundred times already and the mods got on us about it as its not a support topic for that app. Plus there is another one here on XDA as well besides the one I am talking about.
With that, hopefully someday MaaarZ pics this back up. And yes, I did gladly donate to him for this app at one time.

Most apps for this are gone snap tools was the best one but i don't think that works anymore and plus Snapchat is so dead Instagram is the new heat

SnapTools is still working with old snapchat version, use google to find it
There is also SnapCept https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-snapcept-save-snaps-stories-snapchat-t3797667 which works with recent snapchat version

Installation
Note: Obviously, you need root access on your phone.
- Download the Xposed Installer APK.
- Install the app along with the framework.
- Download and install the app from the repository.
- Activate the module in the Xposed Installer.
- Soft reboot your device.
- Configure the settings to your taste.
- Press the triangle to launch the text customization.
- Click share from Gallery and select SnapPrefs to send a picture from Gallery.

Chat Image save has changed, you need to open the image, then long press on it.

95FAQQ: The Snapchat app force closes, what should I do?
A: First of all, check if you are using a compatible combination of Snapchat and Snapprefs. (Look further down for the compatible chart)
Q: I am using a compatible combination, but it still crashes, what now?
A: Open the Snapprefs app, enable debugging mode, then kill the Snapchat app. Reproduce the issue and attach the log from Xposed Installer -> Log, in a CODE TAG, also cut down the irrelevant parts of it.
Q: I have accidentally updated the Snapchat app, how can I roll back to the previous version?
A: Download the needed Snapchat version from APKMANIA
Q: I'm unable to log in to Snapchat, what should I do?
A:
1) Uninstall the Xposed Framework, not the Installer app, the Framework. (Kitkat and below can uninstall it from the Installer app, Lollipop and above have to flash the correct uninstaller zip. Finding the correct one will not be assisted here.)
2) Boot up the device and log into Snapchat.
3) Backup the data of Snapchat with Titanium Backup
4) Install the Xposed Framework and you will be logged in. If you ever press the log out button, you will have to redo the whole process.
4a) If you uninstall Snapchat, restore the backup from Titanium Backup to log back into it.

Welcome to Mr.Yawnie's Custom Sticker Packs -post.
Here I will share my work for you to use. Current packs include EmojiOne and iOS packs as well as my own extra stickers.
Instructions on how to use:
1. Download Snapprefs 1.4.9 or later
2. Enable Custom Stickers from Snapprefs settings
3. Download one of the sticker packs from below
4. Extract the .zip you downloaded, so you end up with 2 zips (twitter_emoji...zip (only on 1.6.5 and below!). On 2.0.0b and above rename the zips to twemoji_2_png.zip and twemoji_2_svg.zip
5. Copy those two zips to sdcard/Snapprefs/Stickers folder. Create the folder if you don't have it. (HOX! If it doesn't work, try Ext.SD/Snapprefs/Stickers)
6. Kill Snapchat and open it again
7. Use the custom stickers (usually in last tab, on the bottom!)
8. PROFIT (and don't forget to press thanks!)
How to use two or more sticker packs simultaneously:
1. Add one custom pack first to sdcard/Snapprefs/Stickers
2. Go to Snapchat, take the image you want and add the stickers you need from pack A.
3. Go to file explorer and copy the pack B to sdcard/Snapprefs/Stickers and overwrite the current one (DO NOT CLOSE SNAPCHAT IN BETWEEN!!)
4. Go back to Snapprefs, and you have the pack B to choose from. Apply needed stickers and you have stickers from two different packs.
5. Send the snap or repeat to add stickers from pack C.
