Oh man, I just posted this in the bloatware thread, I will ask for it to be removed.
here is my post

Samsung bloatware is a real pain in the ass, you have to delete lots of it to free up cpu cycles, memory (and battery life). I have seen spreadsheets of lists of samsung apps/services and what they do for other samsung phones in the past and these are really useful as you know exactly what to 'freeze/remove'. There are so many apps & services, its almost impossible to determine what you lose by removing 'stuff' and wondered if anyone therefore has any information...

I have 'frozen' the following, some of the new funky stuff doesn't appear to work but most things do (and I have about 430Mb free after killing everything) I am using LF2 with CFROOT 6.2

If anyone could provide any definitive knowledge on what each app/service does, it would be great.

Why are you freezing them and not removing them if you plan never to use them again? Sorry still new to me all this.
If you remove them and reinstall your rom then you need to do it all over agian. f you freeze them they stay frozen. Of course you could use ti backup to label all unwanted apps first so they're quick to find and remove.

Does anyone know what DSMLawmo does?
This service starts when my phone boots.

Is it safe to remove?
I am not a big fan of removing, but i have it frozen since i have the S3 and don't have any problems.

Has anyone removed/frozen the slideshow.apk file? I'm curious what this does exactly and if it will have any effect on my problem with 'incoming' picture messages in the default text messaging program. (incoming Text messages that contain a regular picture constantly get shown as a 'video' or 'slideshow' rather, on my phone (I.e. I cannot zoom the picture and its very small when it arrives and i only get about 5 or 6 seconds to view it like its a short video). Also when i take a picture to send it it was says something along the lines of "Inserting photo into slideshow".. (though people i send the picture too do not get it as a slide show curiously enough).

Not sure. I don't know why Samsung went back to that after fixing it on ICS on the Galaxy S II.
I use GoSMS so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

I could be doing something wrong, I dont want to say they 'didnt' fix it for this phone as I seem to be the only on this board having this issue.. (i'm fine with everything else with the stock messenger, just wish pictures would work properly).

Is there an updated sheet for removable bloatware guys ? Been looking in the original post and a lot of the entries are not greened or colour coded. Thanks in advance.
