Did you ever message Samsung about the front camera not supporting RAW? Did you try fiddling around with the Pie builds, maybe they have RAW support? I would love to try HDR+ from the GCam on the Front camera, but rooting on a device like the S9+ is just something I'd love to avoid. I remember it was a struggle to root and flash ROMs on the S3.

I will post all the libs here to make it easy for everyone to flash this libs ( thanks to @defcomg to his wonderful work consider donating to him https://www.paypal.me/GeorgeKiarie he really deserve it)

Also he explains on a video how he find out and modded the libs https://youtu.be/DbocAKZqMPs?t=634 for those interested

Here are the libs on latest vendors for all of them (it may not work on previous versions)

Exynos S9

4.1 Features:
- improved the lighting of front camera (in very bright conditions you may need to turn down exposure a bit by -0.5 on the viewfinder but the camera quality is far better than stock also portrait mode)
-removed portrait zsl for stability issues

Flash via TWRP the lib fix then install this 4.1 latest version. After go to hdr+ setting and you can enable also the front camera HDR+

Edit: fixed the note9 link i made a mistake with the cameralibs names

There is a thread on the samsung dev forum to request this: https://developer.samsung.com/forum/board/thread/view.do?boardName=SDK&messageId=355717&startId=zzzzz~&curPage=2&searchSubId=0000000045

Hello, I'm on a Note 9 Exynos non rooted but this should work for you since it's using the same CPU.

It has been recommended that every time you try out a new version of GCam you always:

    1. clear all data from your current GCam (settings, apps, GCam, delete all data)
    2. clear the memory through Device Maintenance (settings, Device Maintenance, memory, clean now)
    3. Uninstall current GCam
    4. Install new version.

Follow these steps and install 3.5, its pretty stable on my device.

What's the recommended settings for this? Front camera with just HDR toggled on makes everything way too sharp.

    Thank you for answer!
I delete all files, clean memory, uninstall app then reboot recovery and wipe cache.
    But not work, same problem.
    I tested 3.3, 3.5, 4.0.
    Only 2.2 work.

Is there a possibility of someone making the patch into a Magisk module so I don't have to reflash every update?

Is there any chance to get a version that doesn't try to connect to google services (when opening the app)?
Since I don't have Gapps installed and don't want to, that would be fantastic.
I would be happy to donate than!

      Google Camera Mods

Hi everyone. Here is my version of Google Camera! Versions posted here are based on @miniuser123 and B-S-G so thanks to them!
First of all i'm not a developer i'm just a student of electronic engeneering that enjoys taking pics and that enjoys much more Google's Camera than Samsung's one! :D
I struggled a lot to make those apk working (that is == to waste time instead of studying for my courses :p ) beacuse i've never been into this field so don't expect anything more from me.

      How to Install (Very important!)
      Steps:
      - Delete Gcam data app if you have a previous version of Gcam installed
      - Uninstall your current version of Gcam
      - From smart manager clean up the memory (YES, sometimes it's needed beacuse after i tried a lots of different verisons of Gcams i messed up something more then the app cache itself)
      - Install the app and after enter to the settings menu and press back to apply the settings
      - Done!

      Download

      Stability: Medium
      v2.2 Features:
      - This config works with Nexus 6 only. (Pixel config can work on our device too but it's too unstable and is always memoryleaking) I prefer a more stable verison instead of something that's half- working.
      - I added in this new version over the 1.8 the [email protected] fps ability and now slowmotion works 120/240 fps
-removed google some other google app dependencies
      - For now you MUST disable flash otherwise the viewfinder start to became laggy and app will memoryleak
      - HDR+ and portrait mode on front camera are broken and will be broken on every version until there is a way to make it working with custom libs.

      - resampling method
      -fixed crash on first install
-portrait zsl (can cause instability for someone from my test works fine)
-added portrait mode with ZSL option (needs to be tested)
      -autodelete folders for portrait mode
      - auto set settings after first install

Gcam is now working on Samsung One UI. People on telegram reported that is working. I fixed both 3.5 and 4.1 even if there is no modded libs for the pie update so later you can use it.
      3.5 for non-rooted users:
      https://drive.google.com/open?id=1m8hvl_9PvCE_LRnPz6OEIGA2jlxBFBmw
4.1 (with front camera fix) for rooted users:
      https://drive.google.com/open?id=1jTueMB0UQ5AFPYJRHaLFAshLb_04fwhT

for s8 user when they will have samsung one ui too send me a PM so i can fix your version too

      Update
      3.5 Features:
      - added lock frame. This will lock the number if frames taken by Gcam and will not vary depending on light condition. So for exmple if HDR+ config is set to very high (24 burst) will take 24 burst photos in every condition
      -fixed OIS in video mode
