Hi guys,

So I've literally just tried to root my Samsung Galaxy J5 and though successful, apps like Download Manager, TouchWiz and Storage Media are all crashing leaving my phone practically useless.

Here's what I did:

Downloaded the following packages:
Odin v3.09
CF-Auto-Root J5Nite J5nltexx smj500fn

and then proceeded to boot up the phone in download mode, launched odin and added the cf auto root to the PA slot in odin

I then plugged the phone in via usb, the com box turned blue (I'd heard that this is ok) and pressed start, it did it's thing and rebooted.

I then found out that KNOX was tripped and now when the phone boots the more important apps that make the phone actually useful stop working.

Any ideas on what has happened and how I can fix it?

Thanks guys!

Bump, I really need to know if anyone can help me as this is my only phone at the moment!
You may messed up the system.. you can try to wipe dalvik cache from recovery and reboot. If that not helps reflash stock rom.

Sent from my SM-J500F using XDA-Developers mobile app

Note: CF AUTO ROOT may trigger FRP lock not only knox..
FRP lock= factory reset protection

How do I do that exactly?
1) Power off the phone.
2) Press and hold Power + Home + Volume UP buttons to boot in recovery.
3) I suppose you are on TWRP recovery, go to wipe then choose advanced and then tap "wipe dalvik cache" and then swipe to wipe.
4) Reboot the phone. It will take longer to boot, only this time, so just wait

As far as I know, there isn't any option in stock recovery to wipe dalvik cache, so you have to install TWRP if you haven't yet.

If you aren't on TWRP recovery, then:
Make sure you've enabled OEM unlock at Settings > Developer Options. If you don't see developer options, then go at Settings > About phone and tap build number 7 times, fast.
Then go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j5-t3338869 and install it.
