Yes most is Samsung bloat, only two or three are Sprint apps. just back up before deleting.

I followed this list but now my battery drain is insane. Is there any battery related software getting removed in this list.

Do you have BetterBatteryStats? If possible install it and the fourth check partial wakelocks to see what is draining the battery.

I just added some of these to the cold storage list (frozen) as I like to err on the side of caution before I delete anything.
No issues so far as to how I use the device.
No increase in quadrant score (used only as a control standard) and will monitor battery.
Note: For mine, I had to thaw USB settings in order for the Laptop to see the phone and card storage.
With USB settings frozen, it saw the device, just not the storage.
Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

AWESOME! I always try to run my phone as lean as possible since all I really use it for is a phone, calendar, texting, an alarm, and web browsing. I don't use all the other crap. After finding your thread it almost seemed like this thread was tailored EXACTLY to my needs! I even liked your keyboard suggestion and switched to it. There's 2-3 things I didn't freeze cause I use those features, but for the most part I froze everything on your list.
My only thing is that I use talk-to-text. When I was driving and went to use talk-to-text the first time, it came up with some pop-up saying "google collaborates with..." something about how talk to text works. I wasn't paying attention to it since I was driving and figured I could figure it out later. Since I didn't delete anything and just froze what was on your list, what would I need to unfreeze for my talk to text to work again? I tied the two obvious ones "talk" and "talkback" but those didn't restore the feature. Any ideas?

I *think* clearing cache and dalvik then rebooting can kill residual widgets but not sure.
As for your additional deletions, I see you removed Gallery - doesn't that kill your ability to send a snapshot or screenshot as an MMS? Also, won't YouTube simply reinstall itself as part of Google services assuming you want the ability to use the Play Store?
This original list is from a while back. Has anyone gone back through the list recently? I am on MD4 and might be doing a trial and error run on what else Sprint has added that we can remove without consequence.

Yea, you can freeze them. It's always safer to freeze first just in case.
