Does this phone support aptx HD?
You can test this by going to developer settings, scroll to Bluetooth audio codec.
Then set it to aptx hd, then go back to settings and then back to developer settings. If it's still set to Aptx HD, it works. If it's set back it doesn't work.

Please tell me if it worked
Which version you have (global, eea, china)
Custom rom or miui

Thank you

You have to have compatible headphones for it to work. Aptx works on mine

AptX HD is supported but the headphones need support it. If they don't there is another option - SBC actually supports higher bit-rates.

However without modifying the Bluetooth stack you will always get the default low-fidelity bit-rate. There was a Magisk mod that did this; it's not been updated for some time and doesn't work on Q. It may work on Pie but I can't guarantee it; it's not been updated or bug-fixed in ages. Edit: I'm wrong, last modified 31 Dec.

Bluetooth stack audio bitrate changer for SBC is the name of the module. If it causes issues, uninstall it.

There are also lineageOS commits that allow the developer options to modify bit-rate. Whether these are in the Mi9T's LOS ROM I cannot say. You may be able to request it as a feature on a custom ROM.

SBC at 576 and up is generally much better than aptX; if you can push it higher it might even trump aptX HD.

Don't be confused by the LDAC options for bit-rate under developer options already there; these only control the bit-rate for LDAC.
