Are HD and HD+ installation processes identical?

My wife has a stock HD+ that she really likes so I don't dare mess with it. Am thinking of getting an HD to try different ROMs. Most of the threads seem to be about the HD+. Are the rooting and ROM installation processes the same for both?

Yes, as long as you have the correct files for the HD. I would recommend the installing HD/HD+ for dummies thread.
