Xda community,

I decided to start this thread to help some newcomers along. When I was a NOOB, I had a lot of questions. I couldn't find the appropriate place to ask the questions, I didn't know how to use the forum tools, I didn't know which questions were good questions, I was worried about getting bashed by some senior members, and I became discouraged. Feel free to ask any questions in here. You will not get flamed for asking any legitimate question. I won't hold your hand.. If you have a question that is all over the Internet, I'll point you in the right direction and tell you how I found that information.

YOU KNOW YOU'RE A NOOB IF..
- You are new to rooting
- You are new to flashing roms
- New to adb, fast boot, drivers, bootloaders
- You don't understand the terminology
- You don't know the difference between a rom and a kernel
- You don't know how to use XDA forums
- You can't explain what rooting is and what it does
- Many more..you get the point

Perfect post hi guys quick silly noob question does the carrier logo or txt appear on the upper left hand corner of the screen kinda like the iphone is there a way to enable that feature? Thanx

because most n00bz have the same question! and other people don't want to see it posted 1000s of times plus it waste space on the servers.

I think he meant that this thread should have gone in the Q&A section and not the general one...

Anyhow, good move! Hope the noobs come in for guidance. I too had many doubts and was discourage at some point from asking questions, now I try to help as much as I can

First off... this is Sprint GS3 thread/forum

But I'm a nice guy, here you go, its the thread for the VZW GN root tool kit. Read through the initial post and a few pages from the end before even using it, to make sure of what it does and how and also if there are any bugs in the latest version.

Best bet is to go to the forum for that device and look in development section. Should be all the info you need in a sticky.

#1 This thread has zero development in it. I would like it to be in the development section. I have a strong feeling that it would be moved quicker than I can type the 1st post. If you can help get it moved, more power to you
