Keeping it. Have owned every Pixel. I have no issues with the screen, and I honestly don't have any issues with the finger print scanner even using a screen protector. Battery has been great. Only grip is having to get used to a bigger phone as the Pixel 5 was obviously smaller. But I went in knowing that.

That's wild that you've owned every pixel phone. I'm still on the 3XL and can't find any pros of upgrading to the 6 or 6 Pro that appeal to me other than the superior camera. Reasons I'm staying with the 3XL:

1. I primarily use my phone as a phone.... the 3XL does a decent job of phone call quality.
2. Speakers on 3XL are front facing
3. Finger print scanner is on the back of the phone
4. Phone is the perfect size
5. Phone just feels solid

If I could upgrade anything on the 3XL, it'd be:
1. Better speakers
2. Phone speed to be what it was when I purchased the 3XL. Everything is a bit slower now. I'm guessing a factory reset would solve this, but maybe not if all the apps are tuned to work with the latest phones?

I'm on the middle. I keep going from keeping my 6 to sending it back and getting an S21 (the battery puts me off though).

the main problem is the dimensions. It's not so much the screen size,.. the thing just feels large to hold. I've got amte 20 pro currently with pretty much the same siz screen, and it feels sooooo much smaller to hold (because it is).

So I currently have the S21 smaller version and I got the regular Pixel 6. I am still on the fence but I am leaning toward keeping this and selling my S21. I have not owned a Pixel since the 2xl. This is the 1st Pixel I feel has everything the other competitors offer.
I'm thinking of going from the 6 to a standard S21 (not plus or pro) . How's the battery on the S21 compared to the 6 ? or the Camera?

The standard s21 is really good in my opinion. Battery life is always good for a full day on the s21 and the camera is good as well. To me they are equal. I was initially on the fence with the Pixel 6 but man it has settled and I'm getting great battery life. The camera is awesome and the finger print scanner has gotten a lot better

I must admit the battery life does seem good on the 6, and i'm sure its much better than the 21 But, the S21 just feels so much better to hold. I cant get used to the 6 in the hand. The things drawing me to the 21 are:

  • I just cant get used to the size of the 6. despite it being the same size screen as my mate 20 pro, the thing feels huge.
  • I love clearview flip display cases such as the one samsung does for the 21. The 6 will never get a case like that,
  • screen protector issue with the 6 (what the hell they were thinking releasing it like this is a mystery)
  • the lack of a similar clearview case for the 6
  • no telephoto zoom (I realise samsungs telephoto lense is a bit of a cheat, but the digital zoom on the 6 is pretty bad even compared to my old mate 20 pro)
With those in mind.. i'm thinking it may go back.

I haven't fully decided yet. I have it boxed back up on my desk right now. I came from an S20 and it's a lateral move hardware-wise (yes, the camera is really good) and the size is truly terrible. Way too big for being the "base" 6. I have issues with it in my truck playing music on bluetooth. Sounds like a CD skipping and it's insanely annoying. The FP sensor isn't great but I use face unlock at home primarily on my S20 which is great. Sucks to not have that on the 6. OH, and I can't change animation duration without borking the lock screen. That just makes Android 12 feel extra laggy.

I have literally NEVER returned a device after purchase but this may very well be my first one.

I am keeping mine. I think spec wise it's a step down from the S21, but the smarts... I hope is where it shines. Google Assistant already understands me a hell of a lot more on this device than it did on the Samsung.
The UI is great, I've never owned a Google, but having had OnePlus devices I am very much a fan of the layout.

The more I use this phone the more I miss my Wing. If only Lg had been better at marketing. Lg made a pretty well thought out phone for the user. They gave you really good, useful features, and the displays were top notch. They just sucked at updates.

PS. Please don't talk about the G4 or V10 either. They had flaws internally and were specific to the motherboard used on both phones. Never had an issue like it since.

All in all their phones were way underrated.
The G4 was/is a lovely workhorse, indeed, it is still my daily driver!!! But yeah, my family has had a total of three G4's succumb to the dreaded CPU delamination issue through the years--not fun. I am thinking of upgrading to a Pixel 6 at this point because my provider says my G4 will stop working in Feb 2022 when AT&T shuts down its 3G network.

If you are used to the G4 you will love the pixel 6. But having come from the wing I feel like I downgraded. Probably going to try the pro here in a month here in a month to see if it's any better. Even on Android 10, the wing had a lot more features than this phone does.

Glad to hear this about the G4-->Pixel 6 swap and for sure in my case it will be an upgrade because the G4 was released back in 2015. No direct experience with the LG Wing myself, but yeah, that is a pretty unique phone so I can understand why you feel like you downgraded.

Keeping it. Don't understand why people would be disappointed.

To be fair though, in screen fingerprint readers have been notoriously finicky at launch for most phones.
False. I'm going based off experiences with other scanners I've used in the past. I've had the Oneplus 6T, amongst other 1st generation optic scanners they worked better out the box unlike the P6. I like the phone don't get me wrong but people need to stop making excuses for this fingerprint scanner. It performs poorly or not at all.

I don't get all the complaints. Compared to any of the previous Pixels, this is leaps and bounds ahead of them all. I hated the fingerprint scanner on the back so I'm really happy it's on the front now. Is it the fastest of any phone? Certainly not. Is it terrible? Not for me. It works perfectly fine, even with my Amazon glass screen protector.

Battery life so far seems pretty great too. I get 5h SOT with 50% battery left. Sound is some of the best I've seen. A million times better than the crappy under display speaker of the Pixel 5, which is why I got rid of it.

Then there's the size. This is the thing I love the most. I have long grown tired of the massive 'flagship' phones of recent times, and the Pixel 6, for me, is the perfect size.

I really have nothing to complain about and will be sticking with it for some time.

Sadly I might not. I have until the 11th to initiate a return. If nothing changes with the fingerprint scanner it's going back to Google.

Thats another point I don't like, the capacitive on the back was perfect, even with the swipe gesture.. the one on the front is just anonyin with this footprint.
