Are you guys having deep sleep issues with this kernel and device? I can't get my Mi pad 4 to sleep / doze at all. It's always awake at the lowest clock speed. If you can, please post what GSI / gapps you are using because I haven't gotten it to work no matter what I tried (which is why I'm pointing to a kernel or vendor issue).

EDIT:I'll try going back to Havoc to see if battery issues persist.

Can i use this software collection on my MiPad 4 Plus LTE 10.1 variant.
Any bugs particularly related to my variant
Yes, I have this device. Fingerprint not working but mobile data is working.

I was hoping Arter might have fixed fingerprint as he now has the plus model but nothing yet sadly. I'm hoping for an update to this soon otherwise I may reflash stock kernel and flash havoc as I'm missing using the fp scanner

Thank you for your input.
I already using arter software collection
One more question if i have to use other ROM like Havoc, is it required to flash different vendor.img because arter providing his own custom vendor img

Potential audio imbalance?

Hello, thank you for this collection. I've been using it a week now and love what you've done. I'm using an AOSP GSI (AOSiP) on the MiPad 4 WiFi edition and have noticed the audio sometimes "phases" back and forth or loses volume consistency on occasion. I also use a Xiaomi A2 with the same GSI but don't seem to have this issue. Could this be ROM related to the MiPad 4 specifically?

I noticed a similar topic in the Hex development Telegram (t.me/hexkernel) where sometimes the audio would be imbalanced when connected to headphones. Since this collection is based on the Xiaomi A2 perhaps this could be related?

Is anyone else noticing the audio will sometimes decrease or increase in volume sporadically?

Thank you again.

@arter97 Found not listed bug: GPS does not work, seems like it is not even detected / present in system
Confirmed! GPS doenst work at mi pad 4 plus.
I hope arter97 will fix GPS, fingerprint sensor, add KCAL support to kernel and make softer auto brightness

Potential camera issue as well?

Also...Friday camera module stopped working randomly. Any app using the camera results in a gray screen and then lag to force restart. Skype app also won't work.

Worth trying out and in my experience may be best to remain very cautious until there's some headwind on updates.

Deep sleeps always shows 0%, even with aggressive doze on with naptime.
But it's sleeps pretty well, 10 hours screen off, gets only 1%. Amazing.

I'm not sure if this counts as an edge case, but I cannot format my microSD card into f2fs.
- TWRP tries to use mkfs.fat but the process fails with error 1
- Trying to format the SD card as phone storage results in an "Attempt to invoke virtual method 'java.lang.String android.os.storage.VolumeInfo.getId()' on a null object reference'.
- Formatting it as portable storage works.

While this does not prohibit me from using is as as you would a usb stick, I'm not able to format it as internal storage to use for apps etc.

A major update is up.

20190810
This update is made with Paranoid Android in mind.
Go checkout the updated Paranoid Android thread.
Vendor image:
Base firmware updated from V10.0.8.0.PDIMIXM to V10.0.10.0.PDIMIXM
Camera hacks removed and reworked to fix camera on many ROMs

Kernel:
Fixed a commit mismerge that broke deep-sleep
Linux v4.4.188 merged
Wi-Fi drivers updated to 5.1.1.73Q
Bunch of memory allocations from various subsystems were reworked to perform much better (thanks to Sultan)
32-bit vDSO added for improving performance on arm32 programs
Backported speculative page fault to improve system performance
Latest f2fs-stable merged
Switched to zswap/vnswap approach
- Ditched conventional zram swap approach and taken zswap+vnswap for more efficient memory operations
- Backported zsmalloc memory allocator from mainline
- Backported zswap compressed page cache from mainline
- Samsung's Galaxy S9 memory modifications merged for better swapping efficiency tuned for Android
- This new kernel's memory management will be drastically different from existing kernels

7 zip is reporting some data after the end of the payload of vendor.simg in the new 20190810 image
Same here, I would wait for a fix, I don't want to risk a brick.

One question: is the firmware baseband now included in the vendor image? No needs to flashed separately?
