He has mentioned it in bold in the OP:Dont use on the LTE version, it will not boot or enter recovery
He has mentioned earlier that unless the community can buy him LTE version or starts a fundraiser, he has no plans to buy the LTE version. So i would say it's highly unlikely at this point.@arter97
Bro can you do mi pad 4 LTE too?
Thanks for the log. I'll see whether I can replicate and fix it on my device.there you go arter, if you need other specific logs let me know
Most of the improvements doesn't show in benchmarks.Any one up for benchmarks test?
You can open a fund raiser yourself. This is great! Finally, a compelling reason to get a Mi Pad 4.
Don't know if you care, but I found a few minor mistakes:
"[...]Mi Pad 4 Plus, Mi Pad 4 Plus LTE model is not supported." -> Mi Pad 4 Plus only comes in an LTE version (64gb / 128 gb) (source: https://www.androidauthority.com/xiaomi-mi-pad-4-plus-894932/ + various other sites). I wouldn't mind chipping in if someone creates a fund-raiser/crowdfunding for you to get an LTE version of the tablet (be it the regular or plus model).
"The next QSSI build will have it solved." -> link is not properly formatted (http://xn--https-nw3b//gerrit.aospa.co/c/AOSPA/android_frameworks_base/+/5436”) -> correct (https://gerrit.aospa.co/c/AOSPA/android_frameworks_base/+/5436)
hope someone actually gives me a Mi Mix 3excited to try this
hope you bring your skills and dev work to the Mi Mix 3
Thanks for your kind words. I remember trying out your kernel back in the Galaxy Nexus days@arter97 you're a legend bro, great job.
Hmm, I made it possible to completely turn off the LCD backlight when the brightness go 0. Maybe this was a bad idea? One thing I noticed is that adaptive brightness fails in pitch dark room. The screen stays completely dark. Other than that everything else works great.
Noted, thanks. Thanks for the log. I'll see whether I can replicate and fix it on my device.
Hey, can you give me another dmesg on a ROM/kernel with a working Wi-Fi?Noted, thanks.
I actually went back semi stock rom(xiaomi eu rom miui10) and flashed this again according to your instructions but same WiFi problem occurs.
I am gonna try to go full stock Chinese rom and get back to this. Not sure if it’s gonna solve anything but worth a try..
i tried installing PixelExperience GSI - Unonfficial using fastboot and Twrp, and seems that after flashing and reboot, after the mi logo i just go back to fastboot, sometimes its just a black screen, what img of pxielexperience did u install thanks sirHey, can you give me another dmesg on a ROM/kernel with a working Wi-Fi?
Just reboot, check Wi-Fi works and get a dmesg.
Thanks.
According to the rules that would have me banned as a regular user too. If there's a work-around, I'd be happy to help. The LTE version is on sale for 229.99 USD currently. No more OT from hereYou can open a fund raiser yourself.
IIRC, XDA forum rule bans me(developer) from demanding donations/fundraisers out front.
Haha yeah I've been out of the kernel game for many years now. Thanks for your kind words. I remember trying out your kernel back in the Galaxy Nexus days
