I have also P6 and front glass of P6 is gorilla glass 2 asper Huawei spec, but I it got scratch , disappointing, I am using P7 last 2 days and I also think that it not fully scratch resistance.
More think is I though huawei will solve the over heating issue, but also disappointing that its not solved, P7 also easily overheat backside.

I don't think it matters which variant of the P& you have. TWRP works for all.

Yes, it does. I've flashed his TWRP to my P7-L00 and it works fine. I tried flashing zips, backing up, restoring and everything else and it is fine.

Startup manager on P7

Dear All!

I have just joined to this community. It looks very good and informative. I've already posted my problem in another topic but noone answered yet.

I've just updated my P7 to firmware B133. What I'm missing from my phone is the startup manager. I hoped if I do this update this feature will appear in my options. But it did not. Could someone please tell me which update contains the Startup manager?

I have another question. If I download a firmware update from a german webpage (for me it seems firmware updates only available to download from webpages from germany) will it contain other languages (i.e. hungarian)?

Google said it went against their policy. Huawei may bring it back because many want it back!

Hungarian will be supported.

I have the startup manager. It's in the Settings menu. Maybe it depends on which build you have.

Got Problems, hope you can help.
Have installed TWRP with Firmware B126 works fine.
Now after Vacation, i found the leaked Version B127



Install over SD Card faild, TWRP comes up, and shows Loops, but the install proced. will not start.
Manual Install are not possible because there is no zip file.

Has anyone a solution for this problem?

You have to flash the stock recovery in order to flash stock roms instead of using twrp. Hope it helped ;p

I see that there is no consistent view on the Ascend P7. There are different opinions even on same device with same firmware.

Can some of you dear owners relate to the review on androidcentral?

Specifically the part about quirky software or Gmail not refreshing the emails in real-time.

I have my phone back now so I'm back in action.

I'm running B125 which you guys should be also between b123 and b125 was a update affecting mobile network settings my sim was affected in earlier versions with internet and fixed between these versions.

Tonight ill be setting my phone up properly after initial tests I'm doing now.

125 is rootable right?

I did not note the issue you described with gmail. The original ROM b121 updated to b126 is working fine. I'm trying MIUI right now, except NFc, everything seems fine.

You should be able to use the OTA updater if that doesn't work B126 is here but you will need to do it a manual way which may or may not work depending on what rom came with the device originally if its custom or if you are rooted which would mean you can't update in those circumstances.

Sounds like a faulty phone. I bought mine from China too so as you say, no warranty. If the vendor won't help, can you get a repair in Italy? If not your only option is to replace the device.

How are you all finding the 3G/4G reception?

I'm getting constant dropouts streaming music when on my other phones I had Huawei Y320 and a old dual sim Star X19i were fine.

I got this phone 2 days ago and I have to say... I don't like it. It's much uglier than the P6 which had the absolute perfect proportions, compared, this one looks like it's mentally retarded older brother.
The performance is meh... just like the P6. The only reason I bought the P7 and not just another P6 is because I hoped that they fixed the fking lag on the notification panel. But no it still lags like **** on any other launcher except the default one (and it doesn't work well on that one either). Applications run slightly better mostly because this time they used a mainstream GPU and not some obscure brand that is often confused with a video game studio. But overall it just wasn't worth the money. If someone would ask me what phone to get I'd probably say P6. Not to mention P6 are dirt cheap now, get a full body screen guard and you are set for atleast 2 more years.

The screen is much better however and the one I got has 0 backlight bleed compared to my P6 that had massive bleed right out of the box. The screen has 0 bleed but funny enough now the backlight spills through the plastic and makes it look cheap in the dark with full backlight (atleast on the white version). Not that anyone would be rocking 100% backlight in complete darkness but it's still a problem.

I would have bought an Allview x2 Soul in a heartbeat if it had a microsd slot... or atleast a 32GB version.

As many other P7-L00 owners I also had a problem with the phone not recognizing the micro-simcard in Slot 1 after a few weeks. Since there were no replacement-parts for P7-L00 in Europe I had to send it in to my seller in China (Etotalk). This takes a long time because china post is very slow, then quite often there are customs inspections requiring documents for clearance from the reciepient. All in all one has to calculate 2-3 monts for a warranty repair at the factory in P.R.China. But a 400$-phone is worth the pain.
