Hi there, I am new to the Embedded Systems environment and I need some help. I am the "Tech Guy" for this Gas Station Restaurant Hybrid down the street from where I live and they have two Datalogic Scorpio X3 Handheld Scanners Running Embedded Handheld 6.5 and they are looking for some new software for the kitchen because they are leaving the Hot Stuff Franchise. The application they are using is going to be shut down at the end of their contract with Hot Stuff. That application is a Scan and Print type of app that will print off barcodes as that are scanned. I am currently looking at a company right now called Brady Systems and they have exactly what I am looking for but they would have to get a whole new system, including the printer, scanner, and they would have to be paying a boat load more money just for the application. Can someone please help me find an application like that that will run on Embedded Handheld 6.5.

Okay, I got an Oukitel C21 and at one time forgot my password. I gave someone to flash the phone and ever since, the battery drains soooo fast and charges a lot slower.
I had the battery changed to an Infinix battery because I couldn't get one for Oukitel C21 quickly at where I am and it still is the same.
What did I do wrong and how can I correct it?

A battery replacement will never work the same from a different device, unless it is from a rebranded one.
At software level, what you can do is, formatting data and flashing the newer official ROM for it.

Oh, I forgot to add that at one time, while I was locked out of my phone, I tried formatting it and at a number of times, I pressed "Clear EMMC" thinking it would help the situation.
Could that be the problem?

I have a Lenovo TB-X304L and I installed a custom ROM on it a few months ago. Everything was working perfectly except for some bugs and some specific apps crashing. So I thought of flashing the stock firmware to go back to the original ROM. I didn't take a backup when I installed the ROM. I used Lenovo's "Rescue and Smart assistant' to download and flash the right firmware for my tablet. I was able to flash it successfully and all but when I tried to boot it up. It was just stuck on the Lenovo screen for a minute or two and then turned off. I tried turning it on several times but every time it would turn off after staying on the 'Lenovo screen' for a minute or two. I even tried booting into the (stock) recovery and factory resetting it and also formatting the cache partition but nothing worked. I also noticed that the device's bootloader is locked and the TWRP recovery got removed. Now even if I want to flash a custom rom, I can't because to do so I need to turn on USB debugging and turn on OEM-unlock but I can't boot into the OS. I tried flashing in 2 times now but its always stuck on the boot screen. Please help me if there is anything I can do with this.

Thank you.

Device: Lenovo Tab 4 10 (TB-X304L)

I'm trying to learn how to attach a md5 and SIG file to a zip file.
The device I'm working with only accepts files that come with a zip, md5, and a zip sig

Probably. Replace the battery with the correct battery for your specific model number and then reflash your stock firmware.

By using APKtool to decompile the apk, then edit the apk then recompile the apk with the changes added then install the new apk on your device then reboot.

Has anyone tried rooting their Redmi 10C? Or install GSI?

Any comments on Redmi 10C is accepted, I can't find a dedicated forum for this device.

In regard to the GSI stuff, the procedure isn't different from flashing to other Qualcomm device, pay attention if your device has a super partition, if so, then search for "How to flash a GSI onto a device with dynamic super partition", you should need to merge the system image within the others images that are in the super partition.

In regard to root it, you should read this as reference https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tutorial-magisk-on-gsi-on-devices-with-dynamic-partition.4311045/

I'm trying to install a root apk into a tablet
It will only process and apply files that have zip md5 and zip sig
I'm not able to install third party apps
Ah, so you are trying to flash it via stock recovery or via flashtool? I asked what method you were trying to use to install the app but you didn't provide an answer to that question. You are being very vague, no one can help you if you don't provide more than just general information. How can we help you if you don't help us understand EXACTLY what you are trying to do and EXACTLY how you are trying to do it?

Is your bootloader unlocked? If not, you almost cerainly will not be able to install it by flashing it.

I'm not trying to flash it.
I am trying to do EXACTLY what I have said
Install an app using a file package(zip,md5&zip.sig)
This is a securus tablet that is not rooted so I can not install third party apps
In none of my post have I said flash
I think the confsion comes from the fact that apps are normally installed via APK's, while ZIPs are used to flash. You keep takling about a zip, so others are assuming you are flashing it.

Maybe thats your problem, you are trying to install a ZIP (made specifically for "flashing"), when you should be using an APK to install an app.

    Hello guys..:)
I would like you to go through XDA new users guide and you must read the FORUM RULES before posting here or anywhere else on xda.

The rate at which the new users are joining xda on daily basis is very high. A lot of users join because they have got some problems with their devices like bricked phone, bootloops etc. because of following incorrect processes. Some join to help out others, to share their knowledge and gain more.

So basically this thread is for all of those who want to ask questions and answer those.

So those who want to help here, just try to answer without flaming, let it be answered thousands of times earlier, show them the path, direction and let them do things on their own. Do not spoon feed, rather just try to point them to right direction.

This whole idea is of @undercover and the former OP Bruce Wayne and I thank him.

To The people asking questions here, don't forget to check for the links from 2nd post. That will help you increase your knowledge, and do answer the questions asked by others if you know the answer. Please don't simply say thanks if some member helps you, instead use the thanks button, that will help us keep this thread less cluttered.
