Guys, if i install a stock rom by RUU tool...it wipes everything on my phone ? and when i say phone i mean just the internal memory not the sdcard.

And if not, what`s the best way to wipe everything and install a stock rom? i want a fresh start to say so

1. Is there a way to display birthday date in another format in the Contacts app ?

2. I don't understand why, when i set an Exchange (2003?) account in the email app, I can't select HTML format for emails... Are HTML emails supported (Exchange & froyo) ?

3. Is there a list of pre-installed app that I can remove from my DHD without problem ? Same question with all the folder created by default on my SD.

Hi all

i just got my htc desire hd
i found themes on this website and i have downloaded it as its .zip file
it was saying that you need to copy .zip file to sdcard and then flash recovery and it should work..

i really dont know how to do all of this..
can any one help me with this problem but please give me step by step instruction. how to do it from a to z

one very important question for me:
Is the Touchpanel of the DHD REALLY smooth?

I have the old desire, and i can tell, THIS is NOT...
when drawing a diagonal line, it makes BIG stairs...

when i scroll the status bar down, the homescreens left/right: -> it goes faster-slower-faster-slower for ...10 pixels or so, I think...
the sensitivity is just "false": scrolling with keeping the finger ON the display, is really not smooth.... on my ipod touch, there is not such a problem, it is anytime smooth and responsive..

please someone give me an answer about the responsibility of the touchscreen when keeping the finger in the screen and scrolling, because i want to upgrade my desire -> desire HD VERY soon !

In my opinion, its not smooth. Drawing diagonal lines has noticeable steps and it can be very frustrating in games that need accuracy (like sliceit)

umm anyone having problem watching videos that are in your sd card? i can watch the vids perfectly fine on my pc. resolution is 624x352 which can be played. only very lil vids can watch the rest can't. tried 2 seasons of diff tv shows already.

Since the new update I got no notification for a new SMS, even no green LED

It vibrates and I unlock my DHD and see just nothing. Have to open the sms-app.

Any solution?

I had updated my DHD on the 24th of December to 1.72.405.3. Since then, the usage of battery by Android OS increased to 40%, so the phone works only ~4 hours without charging. What can I do?

The video file is of .mkv and i've tried both vPlayer and RockPlayer; although they are able to play the video, there is significant lag, with fps of not more than 2 = /

What MicroSD card do you have? What brand and what class?

Also, does your phone have general lag? Have you applied the fix for the /INIT bug? And do you have all the latest updates installed?

How to turn ON/OFF Fast Boot?

Hey guys, I am very excited to receive my HTC Desire HD this week and I was just wondering if there is really a setting in the phone itself to turn ON/OFF the fast boot feature?? If yes, then how? Or is this just a term being used by everyone else for a very fast boot??

My DHD does not go into the recovery mode

Hi,
I've just received my DHD thru ebay. I think it is from Middle East with WWE rom. No complains about the rom but I've tried couple of times to go into the recovery but I failed. What is the correct procedure of going into the recovery mode. In manual it says:

Performing a factory reset using phone buttons
If you can’t turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the buttons on the phone.
With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button.
Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.

But it did not work on my device, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Never mind solved. (Settings-> Applications -> FastBoot (tick off)

Debranding help 1.75.110.2

Hi,

I got the DHD on T-mobile and so its got the logo, then htc logo, then t-mobile logo on start up and takes on average 45 seconds.

I want to unbrand this and flash a generic rom so I still get updates from HTC, but I updated to 1.75.110.2 and lost my root and apparently there is no root for this, yet. Visionary r12 says its rooted but doesn't unroot and r14 tries to root then goes black. Not too fussed about the root later but heard it is needed for flashing?

Anyway is there anyway to downgrade to 1.72 or 1.32 or whatever then root then flash a generic rom? I've got the goldcard but not changed anything else, like ENG or radio.

Any helpers will be worshipped. Easy on the android terms though please I've been on symbian.

Is there any way to just get stock Android 2.3 on my Desire HD, or something like that like the Oxygen mod for the Desire?
