Replied SMS texts showing wrong time

I'm having a bug with my text messages.

If I send someone a text message, when they reply it appears above what I've sent them - as if it was from earlier.

It would seem this only happens if they respond fairly quickly.
Has anyone else experienced this? As you can imagine it makes it hard to keep track of conversations...
I'm having a similar issue, but when people reply to my texts, their time shows 5hrs behind the actual time. Only difference with mine is, it's ALL THE TIME, not just intermittently. It really screws with conversation mode and I don't know how to fix it. I'm not sure if it has to do with the fact that I'm using the phone in Canada (GMT -5) and the phone think I'm using it in London (GMT 0)?!? In any case, if anyone has any solutions it would be much appreciated.

Just received this phone today after buying from Handtec and didn't notice any problems.

... until now.

At first, the orientation of the phone would be stuck on landscape after I'd tilt it. I noticed this when I was using the Opera browser. Holding it in multiple ways didn't fix the problem. I reset the phone, which put it back to portrait, but now it won't switch to landscape at all. I have the option ticked in Settings for automatic rotation. I went to messages to see if this wasn't just the case in the menus and Opera, but the screen still wouldn't rotate after holding it horizontally when typing a text. If I want to switch it back to portrait, I'd have to disable the rotation, and then it'd be stuck in portrait, and if it suddenly goes to landscape again, it'll stick to it unless I go to settings and turn it off.

Thing is, I was successfully tilting the phone from portrait to landscape earlier today when I was showing my sister the Android Market.

I just hard reset my phone and the phone is stuck in landscape again.

Do I have to send it all the way back to Handtec to get it repaired? How much will it cost me, postage and all? I live in Australia. I'll be pretty pissed if I do, especially since it was working perfectly just before.

e: testing my phone with an app that came with it, the teeter one, the gyroscope seems to be completely unresponsive. What the hell?
Didi you try screen calibration? Settings>Display>Calibration

EDIT. I found the answer already to question 2 and 3. And managed to install the radio. (The video was really good help, so I did it that way.) So I guess I only need answer to Question 1., before I can install the new Android Revolutin HD ROM. Thanks.

EDIT2. Found the answer to question 3. as well. Found the good solution with the youtube video as well. Thanks!

Hello folks,
im a noobie here, and trying to install Android Revolution HD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040

And have some questions:

1. "Remember to check MD5 Checksum before flashing !!! " how do I do this?
2. Before I install the new ROM, do I have to install the Radio first? or the other way around?
3. I tried to install the radio.img, but got an error, so should I follow the information in txt.file (READ THIS BEOFRE FLASHING), below is the info:

What do you need?

- S-Off Bootloader ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841076
- RADIO S-OFF ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
- The Android SDK (http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html)
- Your device is plugged in & fully charged

1) Put radio.img into your android sdk "tools" folder
2) Boot into bootloader mode - hold volume down & press power and select "fastboot" from the menu
3) Open a cmd prompt on your pc
4) cd to sdk/tools folder
5) type: fastboot flash radio radio.img
6) type: fastboot reboot

or, should I follow this thread with the Video etc..? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896597

When following the txt-file, I got this error:

"This application has failed to start because AdbWinApi.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

I have already made these steps successfully:
- HTC Desire HD S-OFF ---> [TOOL] One click ENG S-OFF
- Radio S-OFF in order to flash new radio ---> [TOOL][VIDEO] One click Radio S-OFF, SimUnlock (Easy Root Guide)
- ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.3 or newer

So many threads that are jumping around are a bit confusing, but so far I have manged to do at least something. Thanks for your help, I am sure I can do this sooner or later. :)

Ok dude, recently did this myself so I think I can help :)

Firstly, me and the developers of any apps or guides I link are not responsible for any damage etc and I take no credit for any of said apps or guides here :p

This is my first guide, let me know how I can alter it and stuff :)

Step 1) First you need to check your software build version. Do this in Settings> About Phone> Build number. If this is HIGHER than 1.32 (Normally 1.72 or 1.75) then continue on to step 2. If not, skip onto 3 :)

Step 2) If your on 1.72, go to this link and follow the instructions here.
WARNING, THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE (not your SD card though)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003

Step3) After downgrading, or if you were already here, time to root! :)
OK, before custom ROMS and stuff we need to get S-OFF (the ability to write to normally restricted areas of phone basically)
First things, download this app and follow the instructions in the first post to permroot http://android.modaco.com/content-page/320350/19-nov-r14-visionary-one-click-root/page/180/

Step 4) Permrooted? Awesome.
Jump over here and follow the instructions (obvioulsy skipping visionary bit :p
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537

Step 5) Now you should be S-OFF. Wicked. Now if you didnt follow the small instructions, think about doing so. You will need to do the first small one to flash custom radios (improve battery and signal etc), and also download ROM Manager from the market. We will need gthat to install your ROM

Step 6) JUmp here to this gem of a guide I found:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/05/08/complete-guide-how-to-flash-a-custom-rom-to-your-android-phone-with-rom-manager-full-backup-restore/.
Very detailed on how to set up ROM manager and will walk you through backing up your current ROM incase anything unfortunate happens :)

Step 6) On to the ROM! Find a ROM you like and want to install. Android REvolution is a very popular one but check out the Desire Hd Android Development forum. Loads of awesome work there :)
Find one you like and download it :)

Step 7) Copy the downloaded .zip to root of your phone's SD card (DONT UNZIP IT LOL)

Step 8) Open ROM Manager and click install from sd card, choose your zip.

A box will pop up, asking to
a) back up existing ROM (Do if you skipped this earlier)
b) Wipe data and Cache (always recommended for best results on new ROMS)

Tick you desired options and hit OK :)

Step 9) Get coffee. It will normally take between 5 and 10 mins to install and then normally about 10-15 during the first boot up of your new ROM

Step 10) Customise! Theme it if it was a deodexed ROM (Like Android Revolution), get SetCPU on there and over clock it.

Remember, before making major changes like themes and MODs or ANYTHING you need to flash, make a nandroid backup (the backup from ROM Manager). These will save you if something goes wrong and literally save all your data (SMs's, contacts, apps, EVERYTHING)

Hope this clears up a few questions. Feel free to reply here or PM me :)
Happy rooting

Android Revolution is very good. Popular and very stable. I use it myself so I would definatly recomment that ROM

Right, you need to Permroot with Visonary+ (found on first post in this thread

Then use the utilities and instructions in this thread which first give you S-OFF and if you follow the instructions that are in small lettering, it will give you ENG S-OFF which is required for custom radios.
First make sure you have HTC Sync installed (Go to HTC website, find DHD and then software.)
When using the utility make sure USB Debugging is enabled (settings>Application> Development) and then plug your DHD in to PC in CHARGE ONLY and then use the utility

With regards to flashing custom radios, i haven't done it but I believe you can do it before or after the custom ROM. And I'm not sure if I confused you but radios are OPTIONAL. YOu can use the stock ones perfectly fine.

Anything you flash you open ROm manager and install zip from sdcard> Select the .zip, that goes for the RIM as well :)

Hope that clears it up...

Yes the visionary I linked here http://android.modaco.com/content/software/320350/19-nov-r14-visionary-one-click-root/, and the one linked from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537 this thread are the same. I just gave you a direct link is all.

Yes you need to be on 1.32 OR LOWER

To temp root, you install visionary, open it up and click 'Temproot' and wait for it to complete. Then click 'Permroot' and wait for that to complete, you phone will reboot.

With the S-OFF you can do ENG S-OFF and Radio S-OFF in any order you like, but before flashing Android Revolution. Follow this AFTER Permrooting with Visionary http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537

Yes to flash the ROM, copy the download ZIP to the root of you SD card then open up ROM manager and Install zip from sd card, the zip. Then tick whether you want to wipe data/ cache and backup ROM(do so if you didn't yet) and hit OK

Hi Guys,

As i have less than 10 posts, so not allowed yet to post in the DEV section, i still have some questions as i want to customize my Desire HD.

Although I'm i noob regarding Smart phone customization in overall, i successfully have rooted it, S-OFF and RADIO OFF, and made a backup of my current ROM via Recovery

Now i want to try MIUI 1.2.11, ver2, but before is start i need to know something...

1) Can i use ROM manager 3.0.0.7 ( with Clockworkmod 3.0.0.5) to install MIUI, or is it mandatory to downgrade to ROM manager 2.5.1.3?

2) Does MIUI come with a kernel with working WIFI and BlueTooth? If not, what kernel do i need to install? (my current kernel is: 2.6.32.21 - gf3f553d [email protected] #1) - As im not allowed to post links yet, so not able to link to a kernel database with available versions i can choose from, can someone point me to the correct kernel please?

3) My DHD radio is version 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M. Can i continue to use this one, or should i upgrade to a better one.. And to what version?

Thanks in advance, R

Okay thank you for a very clear explanation...
Should i put the visionary in my phone too?

I downloaded the files right then extract in in a folder inside my pc after that i would plug in my dhd on usb debuggin charge only? Then click the visionary? Ill just follow the guide of visionary? After temproot then perm root then after my dhd reboot should i unplug the usb wirr? Or should i just let it idle and proceed to s-off and eng s-off? After that and radio and choose a radio mod? Then after finishing this.. will my dhd reboot?idle?unplug?

Before i copy d rom inside my sd then use d rom manager
Which is better? Wipe right? Is this clean install?

Thank you!

G'day folks

I regards to the tutorial "How to downgrade to 1.32.405.6 WWE" It is mentioned in the requirements that the Desire HD build number should be 1.72 or higher.

So ok, i have a Vodafone DHD with neither build 1.32 or 1.72.. my build is 1.39.
However i've managed to root my phone, radio and eng s-off, installed ROM manager 3.0.0.7 and made a backup of my current rom, and in Recovery my CID shows all 1's (11111111).

Do i still need to downgrade to 1.32 WWE or can i flash any custom ROM i desire?

And if i need to downgrade, do i still need to make the goldcard and such or can i just flash the stock WWE rom from within recovery?

The only difference with stock DHD's is the Software and Build numbers, which are Vodafone's own i assume.

Android-Version: 2.2
Baseband-Version: 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Kernel-Version: 2.6.32.21-gf3f553d [email protected] #1 Thu Oct 28 13:24:11 CST 2010
Build-Number: 1.39.161.1 CL278886 release keys <<<<<< Vodafone ?
Software-Number: 1.39.161.1 <<<<<<< Vodafone

Thanks in advance!
