Has anybody looked on Asus website to see if they have posted firmwares and an unlock tool for this device??

250€ ? I paid £250I received my ME301T yesterday evening, I think the only thing "not excellet" is the low display's PPI density, but at this price (250eur) I think it is the best value-for-money android tabelt ath the moment!
Agreed, in comparison to 1600x900 or 1920x1080, it's worse of course. But 1280x800 is not terrible on a 10 inch. A lot of 14-15 inch notebooks still use this resolution. Coming from myself that, back in the day, was satisfied with 320x200 on a 14 inch CRT, 1280x800 on a 10 inch is just fine in my books. And the lower resolution pairs better with the lower speed Tegra 3 in these units.250€ ? I paid £250you are right screen resolution could be better...
Asus ME301T MemoPad 10
Asus said a while back that both memo pads would get 4.2.1 soon. just FYIHi everyone,
Wiki page here. Please add information if you have, especially about unlocking and mods.
Now let's hope a developers forum will be created soon. I would like to have the multiple accounts functionality from Android 4.2, so can't wait till they unlocked the device and have a newer mod.
There are some errors: it has tegra3 not 2 and android version is 4.1.1Hi everyone,

and also with 4.2.1 nowI'm surprised this tablet isn't getting more love from devs. It's relatively cheap, as fast as the TF300 and finally eschews that sorry charging adapter for us folks who don't care about getting a dock for it. Rooting is easy and fast with Motochopper. 4.2.1 actually works at my workplace on Wifi (its more expensive cousin TF700 was having problems connecting, so I had to sell it, to my great chagrin).
Let's keep our fingers crossed that more users come forward and show some interest. :good:
I mainly root to enable ad blocking. Ads simply drive me nuts. I'll buy an app when it is good enough to get rid of ads, but won't stand for them when browsing web sites on Chrome or Firefox (unless I truly want to support a site that I frequently use).I wonder if there are as many people that root their devices as there used to be. These devices, and the Android os, have gotten so good that people have less of a need for custom roms. I had my Acer Iconia Tab A500 for almost a year before I had to use a custom rom because an ota update caused problems. I've had my Memo Pad 10 for a month and I haven't felt the need to even root it because it works great.

3385 in quadrantCould one of you run a Quadrant benchmark run on your memopad, I would love to see how they stack up.
I agree, if it had a better screen that would be great but it would also be more expensive. At this price I think you get your get an overall excellent product.I just bought a memo pad a few days ago aswell. love it.
no frills, streams 1080p perfectly. As others have said, if this tablet had a better screen, it would be amazing.
