Thank You SO Much!!

I cannot thank you enough elmor0 my friend! This phone has been a total nightmare for me to root since I picked it up a couple months ago. I had tried multiple versions of ObiWan and had only received errors or my device would simply restart without the bootloader actually being unlocked. Then to top it off, the support page seemingly vanished about three weeks ago which confused me even further. But with the links and instructions you provided I was finally able to find the most recent firmware update along with a version of ObiWan that actually worked for me. You've broken a 2 month cycle of trial and disappointment for me today and you are amazing!

Hi there,
If I decide to unlock bootloader , install TWRP and then root the phone is there any negatives like programs stopped working or something like that ?
If I decide to relock bootloader is there any way Asus or service center to understand that bootloader was unlocked and are the warranty valid then ?
Thanks!

Only a few negatives but they are easily worked around. First is the fact that your warrantee will he void if your device is rooted or bootloader is unlocked. That can be easily fixed though by simply relocking the bootloader and flashing a stock ROM version to eliminate evidence of rooting. Second negative is that you won't receive automatic OTA (over-the-air) updates for your device if you are rooted. If you want to have the latest software updates, you will need to download them from ASUS's website and install them manually. Lastly, some apps have built in root detection that will prevent them from functioning on a rooted device. These are mainly apps with sensitive information such as mobile banking apps but also includes certain games as well. This can be bypassed by using a systemless root such as Magisk which has the ability to prevent chosen apps from detecting root access and essentially "hiding" your root.

Thanks for reply!
There isnt such thing like non invertible knox x0 on samsung devices or blue tint photos on some sony devices ?
I know that OTA didnt work with unlocked bootloader and some programs didnt work with root.

I'm stumped. I can't seem to relock the bootloader. In the bootloader, the device isn't recognized (I've tried installing the drivers). If I boot into fastboot mode from recovery, it says Command not supported in default implementation. What am I missing here?

1) connect to Side Port
2) Keep ur platform tools into c drive and give system path rights to it will work.

Is this page the only place to get the bootloader unlock tool? I'm getting the US version (Version A) in the mail soon and I notice the official Asus links are down. I'm just curious why they would remove the tool from their website

(Update: It seems the link just changed and you have to go to support of the ROG Phone 3 to get the software utility tool)

Where did you get the "Version A" from? I found a couple listings for it on AliExpress but not sure if legit.

So I've been trying the tool over and over for about 2 hours now and just getting reboot no change. No errors so that's nice, but no result so that sucks heh. I read through all six pages in an effort to avoid pestering but I'm starting to think maybe it's my build or time to email Asus about it? I'm on a North American variant, ZS661KS running build QKQ1.200419.002.WW_Phone-17.0822.2005.11 latest stock OTA it will go to. Do I maybe need to downgrade/update before the tool will work? I do have working fastboot/adb...
