Hi,

I have an Asus Transformer Tf201 Prime.. and I bricked, or at least I think so.
I installed AndroWook Prime HairyBean v2.2 (HERE) along with its "Upgrade Hairybean 4.2.1 Bootloader & Recovery" file which persumably upgraded my bootloader and recovery. Everything went smoothly and it worked.
Then I wanted to try KatKiss 5.1.1 v30 (HERE). It failed during flashing. So I thought it must be the special recovery that was provided with HairyBean. So I flashed the latest TWRP 2.6.30 recovery. All is good.
Booted into recovery to find that it is asking me for a password. Given that I never enctypted the device nor had I even set up a screen lock, I clicked cancel and it allowed me to use the recovery. But I'm not able to flash anything due to it unable to mount /cache. I won't even allow me to wipe any partition other than /system.

Also, I found out that the USB icon from the fastboot menu is missing. And I can't go into fastboot with the (PWR-VolDwn) click. It goes straight into recovery and I have to run "adb reboot bootloader" to go into fastboot.
From fastboot I tried to flash the stock firmware downloaded from Asus website but it didn't work as flashing anything in fastboot causes it to freeze. Runnig "fastboot erase cache" causes the command window to freeze too. :D

I tried the suggestions on other threads but none worked for me.

I hope it is clear and that someone can help.

There was a TWRP version 2.8.0.0+ provided on the original instructions you linked that you need to flash. You also need to convert you data partition to F2FS if you haven't. Do not try to back out to a factory image, you would need to downgrade the bootloader and use one of the stock ROMS available in the forums.

Thank you Horth.
Well, recovery wouldn't flash anything. Just fails because it couldn't mount /cache.

Thank you Flumpster, understood. I appreciate your tip.
