I have had no issues.. On the other nothing has just stood out as improvement.. Maybe the way I use it.. A solid deviceFor those who have the 1st gen zenpads with intel and are updated to m, can you share your experience? Improvements? Drawbacks? Tbh im kinda hoping we will have adaptive storage. Tbh 16GB is a joke with the zenpad 7.
What zenpad do you have? Im losing hope about M for zenpad 7 tbh.I have had no issues.. On the other nothing has just stood out as improvement.. Maybe the way I use it.. A solid device
I have zen pad s 8.0 (z580c)What zenpad do you have? Im losing hope about M for zenpad 7 tbh.
Anybody knows how to root Asus zenpad 8 z380c?
Plz. I could not find it anywhere. Anybody succeeded?
Tethered recovery does not work.
I have accidently removed system application PAIStub.apk on Asus zenpad 8 z380c.
If anybody could send it to me I would be very grateful.
Thank you and sorry if it was off topic.
Greetings.
My rooted ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 Z580C was running perfectly.
I ran the battery out when I tried to charge it with the wrong charger... (see other zenpad threads re charger voltage issues...)
Now it's dead, won't charge (even on og charger) and won't respond to any reset button combinations.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Please send it if you find it. :victory:I just sold my tablet for the new 3S 10 version. Would the app be in my new tablet? If so, I'll send it.
I don't think so. There are claims that Auto-Root can unlock the boot loader, but of course that could be one of the scams going around for most new tablets.
ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA)
I just wish there were dedicated forums for these two devices on XDA.
I would love to see that too.I would love to see a Zenpad 3S 10 dedicated forum, although I'm not sure how plausible it'll be for custom ROMs or rooting since it has a MediaTek SoC..
Still, would be nice to have aggregated information for it in case a revelation pops up later on. The hardware is wonderful on this thing, hopefully the software will be too one day.
I would love to see that too.
Is it the MediaTek SoC or any new forum. I also have the
ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA) with a Intel SoC with no dedicated forum.

I recently purchased a Z500M and I am wondering if Asus will ever allow for updating Android to Nougat or even Marshmellow 6.01. I am looking at legitimate ways to root. I behr found postings about how to root on the Z500M and I found the following references on your to do it. I HAVE NOT tried any of these methods and I am sharing these with you to see if they are legitimate.

PS: I recently received a response from Asus tech support on my query about Nougat and I received a upsetting response saying that the Z500M is going to stay at Marshmellow 6.0.
Unfortunately, there's no dedicated forum, but I requested one.i've already rooted it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/zenpad-s-root-achieved-t3160422/post61941689
you should probably do a nandroid as your first step for just in case. i haven't done one so i have no clue if it restores properly.
you achieve root through a temp/tethered cwm.
hopefully someone can take all that and maybe make it simpler. i'd love to have a perm cwm or twrp.
i think it may have been more appropriate to have posted it to this subforum.
I was going to get the Zenpad 8 S, but the inability to disable the video smoothing and sharpness effect has kept me from it so far. Was an update released that allows these features to be disabled completely? I never get why companies add features like this that actually make the experience potentially less good for the user and their marketing touts it as a a feature. Seems obvious to have the option to really turn it off rather than it not.
I'm using this Tempered Glass one, fit and installation is great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0122TOI7M/ref=ya_aw_oh_pii?ie=UTF8&psc=1Has anyone found a quality glass screen cover? Or even a thin plastic one
I downloaded the latest firmware. I'm currently on stock and rooted. Will this affect the installation or brick the device?
Additionally, my boot loader is not unlocked. How can I manually flash the zip?
