ASUS Zen Pad thread [general + accessories + dev]

When I was in Thailand the top part of my tablet went dead to touch. It wouldn't respond.

Now that I am in the USA it's working fine again.

Can anyone explain this?

For those who have the 1st gen zenpads with intel and are updated to m, can you share your experience? Improvements? Drawbacks? Tbh im kinda hoping we will have adaptive storage. Tbh 16GB is a joke with the zenpad 7.

I have had no issues.. On the other nothing has just stood out as improvement.. Maybe the way I use it.. A solid device

This is the only thread I ever found ; a) Only works with LP and b) requires tethered recovery

I personally did not try it - i chose to go ahead and use the ASUS update to MM

ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 Z580C No Charge No Start

Greetings.

My rooted ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 Z580C was running perfectly.

I ran the battery out when I tried to charge it with the wrong charger... (see other zenpad threads re charger voltage issues...)

Now it's dead, won't charge (even on og charger) and won't respond to any reset button combinations.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Only thing i personally would do is very carefully try to remove the back cover and try to carefully remove battery and slot it back in, them put the back cover back on and plug it in the mains to see if it starts to charge again.

I don't think so. There are claims that Auto-Root can unlock the boot loader, but of course that could be one of the scams going around for most new tablets.

I have a ZenPad 3s 10 and not sure if it has a fault.
When on the lowest volume, the volume seems to randomly go down and then back up to the volume setting. I've noticed this on YouTube. Has anyone else experienced this? I've tried this with audio wizard enabled and disabled but same issue only louder when enabled.
Hope I don't have to return the tablet as it's great otherwise.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Apparently, MediaTek has a reputation for not releasing their kernel source. I'm not sure about Intel, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were the same.

I'm not sure if your tablet has root or not, but if it does, it should have it's own forum IMHO.

Seems like ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 has had its kernel source released recently on their site.

I recently purchased a Z500M and I am wondering if Asus will ever allow for updating Android to Nougat or even Marshmellow 6.01. I am looking at legitimate ways to root. I behr found postings about how to root on the Z500M and I found the following references on your to do it. I HAVE NOT tried any of these methods and I am sharing these with you to see if they are legitimate.
