It should work because I have installed Xposed on my phone . Good luck

I tried it but when i use the adb method it always come up with message'' error device not found'' and i have installed asus drivers. My pc dont recognise my phone when i'm on recovery but it recognises it when i'm not on recovery. Can you help?

Those instructions include download for zenfone 6 not zenfone 5, be careful as it could ruin phone using a zenfone 6 rom.
I know it is for Zenfone 6 rom but i want to try with with Zenfone 5 rom. Thanks!

You dont have to be in recovery for this to work. Can you confirm you have installed Android SDK and ADB tools on your pc already ? If not search in xda for ADB

Why do I choose Zenfone as the main phone? I am living is USA, where GSM is limited to 2 provider: AT&T and T-Mobile. And I need a DUAL SIM Android phone. The reason for that is I will use 1 SIM for talk and text, while the other for data. The talking I prefer to use Lycamobile PAYG (2c/min, 4c/text), and the data depends on where you live, pick the one best 4G HSDPA/UMTS.
--- So, in order to have best 4G, the phone frequency must be HSDPA 850/1900 for ATT and 1900 for re-farmed T-Mobile (not everywhere, the best for T-Mobile is AWS 1700/2100.) Plus the phone must be not too weak, strong enough to handle multitasks (no need game), and very important, price around $200.
--- The only 2 I found so far is Asus Zenfone (4,5,6) and MotoG XT-1033. From, these phone, I pick Zen5 / 2G Ram / 16G Rom. Compared to MotoG XT-1033, My picked Zen5 has 2G Ram, bigger screen (Zen6 too big), and even only 2 cores, it run faster.
--- Who can find me better phone than these 2 brands? Remember, dual sim, data support at least 4G HSDPA/UMTS 850/1900 (best if HSDPA/UMTS 850/1700/1900/2100), at least 2GB Ram, and screen no less than 4.5".

If someone can please show me where I am going wrong.
I have the zenfone 5 currently on firmware UL_ASUS_T00F_CN_1_16_40_7
I am trying to downgrade initially to UL_ASUS_T00F_CN_1_14_40_50_user
I am using the downgrade method linked in the 1st post of this thread but keep coming to an error at step 7.

I have edited the install-recovery file correctly but keep getting the above message.

Any ideas?

I have a zenfone 5 that was flashed from CN to WW 1.12 when purchased. Have just successfully updated from 1.12 -> WW 1.14 by downloading the WW file off Asus site. The only change that was needed is to replace the T00F with T00J in folder name after extraction if you have the 8gb model otherwise your phone won't recognise the file. Just place the file into your main Asus directory after plugging into usb and update notification will pop up. Installed with no problems in a couple of seconds so phone must have WW SKU.

Is your phone rooted? If yes, do you use rootexplorer to copy the file to the right place? Remember, the data folder is under root folder, not sdcard folder as many confused! The error told me that there is no file in the directory

I think I noticed a bug after update.

If I use app drawer, and go to page 3, then close it and reopen.. it will reopen at page 3 instead of page 1 which it did on old firmware and all other androids phone I used. Same happens if you go to change a widget, app drawer opens at widgets again which is annoying. It seems to save where you were in app drawer instead of resetting each time you open it. Anyone else notice this and is it changed back to old way in newer updates?

File Type: apk RootZenFone-1.2r.apk - [Click for QR Code]

it seems doesnt work, download will failed / stop around 1.93mb :(
first, once you can start downloading , it is good link. BTW, just checking, no problem. you can google the file name for different link.

still no go for me, even though using a download manager, looking for another link

BTW quyvinh, i am new to this android thing, u know, but its still a little advantage for me as i am network admin for sort of cisco environment wrokplace, past few years. my first question:

im on AP set (thats what they call here) Zenfone 5, checked trough droidboot, it was a CN SKU device.
but running ASUS_T00F_WW_user_1.13.40.8_20140516_170636 release-keys 010175_201401130121.

ur previous post refered. can I just flash it to WW 1.14? skip the CN 1.14 step?

yes, you can try, it is not hurt the phone at all. Download WW 1.14, then because your device sku is CN, you NEED to change WW in the file name to CN, then flash. Remember, the file downloaded from Asus is compressed. Must unzip level-1 to get the file zip inside it.
If I am correct, after flashing WW 1.14, your device SKU should become WW.
