so root is now easy to achieved bcs of new andoid O unlock tool released from Asus.
If you have the lates update downloaded just download it once again from Asus site and download the unlock tool as well, unzip the whole zip on sd card, look for magisk manager online and download the apk, after that it will prompt you to install magisk to either zip or to boot.img, tap on patch boot.img and locate the image, after that the only thing you need to do is to adb reboot bootloader and than fastboot devices, if your device is attached, just fasboot flash boot "patched-boot.img adn you're done and rooted .

So i attempted these steps but now i'm in a bootloop (powered by android screen). I ran the unlock tool first. Guess it didn't unlock the bootloader, now i'm in a bootloop. Any advice how to flash the stock firmware? i can get into fastboot mode and stock recovery.

system ui stopped working

installing magisk by patching boot.img is working and device is working quite well. Installed two module greenify and xposed, but I get weird error whenever I insert sim card (whether on SIM1 or SIM2 or both) that say system UI stopped working, any ideas ?

Anyone had luck unlocking the bootloader for X018D? I can't seem to get anything other than "unknown error occurs".

this is the english stock firmware for X018D Chinese version that is no update. maybe it helps.
