A bit off-topic, but pretty crazy. Why would UPS pick up a package in Fort Worth, TX, send it to Louisville, KY only to deliver it to my home in Fort Worth, TX?

Simply the pkg got missorted into the wrong truck, and left the local building when it should've stayed for the local sort. Then turn around and come back. Sadly this happens when a loader didn't pay attention to the label when loading the Louisville truck.

So this is what I did:

Called att and told them I had upgraded at this store while visiting a friend and he had upgraded also with me. He called me and told me about the promo and how the store had honoured it due to being in remorse period. They called the store to confirm they had the promo still, which they did and then processed the order for free. Should be here Wednesday ish.

Hope you guys have the same luck!

Did you call 611? Are you premier or regular account? Congrats on the awesome deal BTW.

Confirmed. Due to my phone being a business account/premiere (military), they are shipping the Samsung Gear to me for free through the Business dept. I do recommend to stand your ground when you explain the situation. I called on Sunday (yesterday) which wasn't an issue but everyone was closed (that were able to process the order and ship it to me), and today, I had to stand my ground explaining the situation and not to screw me. And so I am getting the Gear (after 1 hour dealing with different reps and managers).

Somewhat. I told them I saw the ad at the Grapevine store (no I didnt went there nor saw the ad, hehe). Dialed 611 and explained it and that I am within 14 day window from when I placed the phone on ordered (my previous phone was stolen and replaced it with the new Note 3; so I used that situation to my leverage). I also told them that even if one AT&T store offered the promotion and the other doesn't, AT&T is still AT&T regardless where I go. So just honor the deal and Ill be on my way (all over the phone). Sales dept at 611 was no issue. The local store here was skeptical and AT&T shipping department (supposedly who is supposed to ship this, was also skeptical: 800-866-1514). So those were no help.

Long story short:

From what I learned from all this (and those trying this) is to dial 611 and get sale dept and explain the situation. They will get a supervisor who can override the price to zero dollars. If your a business/premiere holder, those guys have to do it (which they were nice about). If you have a normal AT&T account, they can do it. Don't go to local AT&T store to do this. Oh and if they have a hard time finding the Samsung Gear (which the person I talked to did and said he couldn't originally get it for me because it is not in the system, tell him it is under Phone Accessories - their layout is different from att.com). It will then pop up and we went from there. Lastly, if your outside the remorse 14 day period, be humble with them and give some convincing story why you originally couldn't obtain the Gear when you initially ordered your Note 3.

I just received my ATT order status confirmation, verifying my Samsung Gear for free. But I cannot post it on here yet as I don't have enough posts to do so.

Called 611 went through several people, they called the TX store and spoke with the manager there while I was on the line, there is no promotion like this. They called the number from post 17, no ad, no deals, nothing.

Stickied with my post-it-note 3

I happened to fall under all of these conditions, having a business account and being a recent upgrader to the Note 3, so I decided to give it a shot.

Using the instructions provided by those here who've had success, I got a sales rep on the phone. I politely conveyed to her the situation regarding the particular promotion offered by the Grapevine location and how some "associates" (I didn't want to lie!) of mine had been able to have it honored on their accounts through customer service.
She didn't ever react with skepticism, but was curious to find and validate any information about a free Galaxy Gear watch offering. She Googled and asked around to no avail. I offered up the contact information given in post #17 to the grapevine location and was then put on hold. Apparently she was told by a representative there that their Galaxy Gear promo has already ended and was never for free anyway. I asked for more specifics, but that was all they discussed.

Perhaps I just happened to get the wrong person from Grapevine on the phone, but I also know I wouldn't be the first here. Has anyone spoken to someone there and confirmed this promotion? I got the strong sense that they would've gladly put one in the mail for me in the event that the promotion could be substantiated.

That Grapevine store is probably catching on whats going on and is probably just telling customer service that theyre not having that promotion. Between all of us trying these past two days im sure theyre catching on. To me it doesnt matter since my galaxy gear is in the mail but for those who have tried with no success I would try again, 9/10 times it has everything to do with the rep youre dealing with, one may be lazier than the other to get you serviced, saying no is easier than having to call stores, confirm information and have a manager come and do a system override.

What he said. Its all on who you talk to over the phone. some are very helpful, some are not so. In the end, it will take their manager on the phone to override the price, prior to shipping it to you for free. If you can convince them, then if could probably work. I don't see AT&T phone reps being the same few people as they have tons of employees working the phones.
