Att/Samsung sure did take their sweet ******* time didn't they?

Imagine the backlash Apple would get if they released the iphone 5 everywhere in the world but the U.S. with no real explanation as to why and just told Americans to sit tight and that "once the iphone 5 was 6 months old then we might be able to finally try it"...
That kind of is how it works though. Samsung is a Korean company and releases products in other countries before ours. Same as Apple is an American company and releases products here before other places. Sure sometimes companies do multiple countries/regions at once, and ideally would do worldwide, but that is much easier said then done. Think about the shortages a worldwide iPhone launch would cause.

If the International version works on the ATT network, it seems the only reason to buy the ATT 2yr contract version is to save about $400 ($599-$199). Depending on how long you keep the phone, it may be worth the extra $400 up front. Keep in mind the monthly savings and how fast that adds up.

I have seen several postings around the net saying they are using the Intl version on ATT. It would be nice to not have bloatware and no lock.

Has anyone heard of any comparisons of the Galaxy S 2 vs the Moto Atrix 4G?

I wonder how they go up against each other?
There is no comparison. Motorola phones have sucked this far.the graphic quality on the atrix kills me. I play pandora and when I scroll through home screens it jumbles the sound.also with headphones lots of white background noise. Trade my iphone 4 with my mom cause she hat atrix so much and I knew I'd be getting gs2 soon enough well I thought.

When I get my gs2 I'm smashing this atrix on the groping in front off att I should videof record that with my new gs2!

Yea i wonder if the ATT version will get its on subforum. I've modded the Nexus S and orig Droid and those forums all make sense to me. I look at the dev forum here and I don't even know where to begin, which rom/kernel etc is even decent...
I feel like if there was a fresh subforum for att I'd figure it out easier.

I would've gotten the international version but I'm not a fan of the physical home button. I like the U.S. version much better. That being said, I have an upgrade but may opt for buying it outright.

+1, the Atrix was horrible. That may be an understatement. The screen was a joke. I was surprised how many other owners seemed to deny the problem. It looked like crap. I thought it may have been my particular device. Nope. I saw others and thought the same thing. Everything else about the device was mediocre at best.

You only get one, 30 day trial.
What do you mean? From Best Buy? When the S2 comes out I'm gonna buy from at&t.

If I don't like it, I will return it, there's no way in hell they are gonna day, well you just returned a phone to best buy so you are stuck with this phone.

Does best buy only vouch for 1 purchase for 30 days?

I would imagine it would. Just like how all the variants of the original Galaxy S line got their own subforums.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he meant from Best Buy. While I don't personally know what their policies are I would imagine they would have one in place that would only allow 1 return period like this. It would prevent abuse. If it was unlimited you could just keep trying and returning phones after 29 days forever.

I understand, I'm gonna have to look into that I mean on the outside, like the receipt it says 30 days and when the Guy sold it to my he said 14.

He was wrong because I bought it off contract so therefore it falls under the 30 day.

When I took it back today the Guy immediately said its past the date and I said, no its not, read the receipt and also let him know I called tech support for the best buy mobile department to confirm.

It felt like a win to me, then I just played on Facebook while he checked the phone out

Is the international galaxy s II too hard to unlock? do you think the at&t galaxy s II will be hard to unlock? i live in latinamerica and naturally a branded phone is cheaper than an unlocked phone, so i was thinking ofg buying the at&t version since the 3g bands are the exact same we use here
wow..im surprised ur not using a bb phone... lol.. thats what everyone in VZLA use....ive sent my mom a 9700 she love it...the international gs2 comes unlock bro... unles u buy it from a carrier.. mine came unlock out of the box...

I have the eu version on att.. no reasons for me to upgrade its same thing.. im kinda waiting on the tmo version tho...1.5 ghz dual core and faster network speed... but the one im really waiting is for the nokia n9 meego...yeaaaaaaaa

hopefully with this att gs2 version now the eu version would get better network speed by copying the apn ..cool

Can't wait to actually get rid of my iPhone 3Gs and get this phone. Saw very good reviews for it and the international version.
