Sure it's plastic but it is very sturdy. That's why it's so light. I hate it when some of them talk about how flimsy the battery cover is, but you can bend the sucker top to bottom and it still retains it shape with no stress. Some of the reviews don't know what they are talking about. I take all reviews with a grain of salt. Same for benchmarks.
Already replaced my battery cover. The notch used to remove it separated. Apparently there are two layers of material. The replacement was different. (Not "carbon fiber" but looks better and is smoother. I don;t use case covers or screen protectors so it really slips well into and out of my pocket. It is really slim.


The battery cover when attached is not noticeable. And since we only keep these phones for a year or two, it doesn't matter if its built like a tank and just as heavy,

called my local at&t store
we dont have it . its only available online.

tried to order the phone online as an upgrade
but kept giving me the 299 price.
and asking for a data plan...
