I have the same problem with my Note 3. Did you call Samsung to get the replacement? ThanksI guess 3rd time is a charm. Both the compass and the GPS work perfectly. Now the GPS will not lose signal when the cell tower/signal changes.
I called my carrier. You have a full year warranty. At&t had my replacement here the next day @ 2:00pm. Ask for 2 day shipment.I have the same problem with my Note 3. Did you call Samsung to get the replacement? Thanks
There's no connection between the GPS and the cell tower, unless the phone just happens to be downloading a new AGPS listing as the tower switches, and then it should throw the new (and corrupted) data out. Standalone GPS should work fine even if the AGPS data isn't immediately available. (AGPS only affects Time To First Fix.)I guess 3rd time is a charm. Both the compass and the GPS work perfectly. I have tested the GPS signal loss on my Samsung galaxy note 3. Several times now. It was losing signal always in the same spot on the route. I watched and noticed loss of signal was when switching between 4G and 4G LTE. I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue. But I'm pretty confident at this point this is the issue. There's no connection between the GPS and the cell tower, unless the phone just happens to be downloading a new AGPS listing as the tower switches, and then it should throw the new (and corrupted) data out. From what I'm seeing in this and a few other threads, there are a ton of quality control issues to be straightened out here. This GPS works, but the 3G/4G switching doesn't. This one works fine, but the receive sensitivity is poor. Etc., etc. This phone seems to have been designed by the marketing department, with only minimal (if any) input from engineering.
I was able to fix the GPS signal loss problem by turning off location services on other apps like weather.com. Once locations services was disabled on a few other apps the navigation worked perfectly.I have tested the GPS signal loss on my Samsung galaxy note 3. Several times now. Unless you have a hardware issue, losing cell signal does not equate to loss of GPS since GPS signal comes directly from satellites. Perhaps it was happening in the same spot because you are going through a bad spot that is obscuring LOS to the GPS satellites AND the cell tower... perhaps an area with tall, dense trees or buildings?I was able to fix the GPS signal loss problem by turning off location services on other apps like weather.com. No tall buildings or dense trees. Actually to the left is a golf course in one of the spots. Always when the phone switched between 4g and 4g LTE. I don't have an explanation but I know turning off location services for other apps stopped it from happening.Unless you have a hardware issue, losing cell signal does not equate to loss of GPS since GPS signal comes directly from satellites. I am not sure what the issue was. For me on my 2 old phones I could force the issue when using the phone command *#*#4636#*#* and changing the signal to any type. Even from 4G LTE to gsm only it would lose signal. I have even re flashed the rom via Kies to see if it was a software fluke...but no avail.I had the exact same problem but after reinstalling the rom it seems to work fine again

In the Note 1, there was actually a hardware hack whereby you pry up the antenna contact pins for the GPS from the main board. It worked even better (or stayed working) if you wedged something small underneath the contacts forcing them to make better contact with the antenna leads.
Has anyone dared take apart their Note3 yet to see if a similar issue exists with this handset?
It's really interesting that you have all 3 notes and work all with fantastic. Do you use all in once?Interesting I have all 3 notes and all the GPS's work fantastic.
My canadian note 3 from telus has the same problem. Mine is showing N900A/T#4-3I also got a replacement from at&t. It doesn't have the problem. Awesome. On the back with the back cover removed, I suppose the top right corner is where the GPS antenna is. The part has a "-4" instead of "-2"as on my old note 3. I think someone mentioned that's a good antenna. Anyway get a replacement if your GPS signal is dropping and navigation does not automatically regain the signal back.
