ATOTO A6 keyboard problem

On my newly installed ATOTO A6 Pro A6Y2721PRB, when I try to use the onscreen keyboard to enter text, a popup screen with a “Help build a better keyboard” message comes up and I cannot enter text.

I have reset and restarted the ATOTO A6 but I still get the “Help build a better keyboard” screen when I try to type.

Any ideas?

Replying to my own thread ...

I was able to use an external USB keyboard to sign in to the Play Store and update several apps including "Gboard - the Google Keyboard”.

Now I seem to be able to type using the on-screen A6 keyboard without getting the “Help with a better keyboard” popup message.
