Atrix 4G CM7 Google Play Problem

I can't get Google Play to work on my CM7 Atrix 4G. I get server error or Google has stopped. I have tried deleting the account and reinstalling account. I have played with the hosts file as well as tried different versions. I know this is not an uncommon for the CM7 Rom. Otherwise, all else is well. BTW is there a better ROM for the old Atrix 4G as well?

All ROMs are located in the Development section. "Better" is a matter of opinion. While one could say GB is good, another could say that ICS, JB, or KK is good on the A4G.
