Do as he says, I try to do fishing the connector through the hole and broke the digitizer flex again. I had to buy another and there if disarmament ALL the phone. The easiest way to install the digitizer is to tear down the phone completly .. once the LCD is out of the way you no longer have to fish the connector through the tiny hole...
Of every non responsive touch screen I have repaired it has been either mother board connection to the digitizer connector or the digitizer connection on the digitizer. It will take a steady hand and very small tip isolated tip soldering iron to resolder the connections. The physical stress of turning it on and off reeks havoc with this connection. You can fix it temporary by just pressing on the switch/finger scanner sideways SOMETIMES. Good luck and this is the fix used at the repair depo.I just recently bought an Atrix 4G off a friend for 50 bucks so I'm not complaining at all.
This phone went through hell, I couldn't stand looking at the back cover it was so abused, I ended up buying a new one along with a battery. Now my only problem; the digitizer has an area of the screen, goes from the home key all the way up the screen, that isn't responsive and sometimes causes the screen to tweak out and select random things and sometimes goes completely unresponsive until i lock/unlock the phone again. Also the back and home keys are really hit or miss when they work. I just ordered a new digitizer and it should be here this week, I'm curious if this will fix it. Also I plan on replacing or removing the screen anyways since the ffc somehow has dust on the inside of the lensAnyway to prevent this in the future with this phone?
