Anyone notice that ATT apps are starting to show up for TMobile users in the Market?

If it's in the market it's open game. Just like the MyAccount is game for people on any other carrier. The carriers really have no way to single out their apps on their devices.

I think they can by designating compatability for certain devices. If you go to the market via computer it will say whether an app is compatable for your device(s). As far as AT&T apps appearing for T-Mobile, it may be that AT&T neglected to designate which devices the apps are compatable for and therefore they work with anything. Or possibly AT&T is releasing a phone that TMO has and is opening the app for that device.

Just some guesses

Att is planning to take over tmobile, they probably are just preparing for the take over. I doubt the fcc is very interested in preventing it, I bet Att is giving them money to stay out of the way.

I'm not confirming/disproving the potential buyout but something I found yesterday that is interesting to note:

about 41% of TMO and ATT stores are within 1 mile of eachother (with approx. 9200 stores total thats 3772 stores). TMO has also signed 200 independent stores that are scheduled to open this year. Another note is that only a very small percentage of TMO and ATT stores are separated by larger than 3 miles. Thats a whole lot of jobs that are going to be lost once ATT says its pointless having stores that close. It isnt starbucks after all...:D

Interesting find! Not good at all. I wonder if fcc has considered about this. They seem all convinced with spectrum issues argument.
